Im looking to purchase a good size waer tank, 50 gal? Where could i get one at low cost? I plan on having my small 1.6gpm electric pressure washer hooked up to it.
Check Northern Tool. I purchased my last to two tanks from them and they have been great. I am just using a super small 26 gallon sprayer tank on my electric pressure washer. I believe i only paid 45 for it.
Do you have any pics? How many cars does that take care of?washing only. I just bough the g foam gun from home depot and plan on using that with my washes now.
Sure they are below. I normally can do 2-3 cars off a full 26 gallons. I only detail on the weekend so this does not bother me. I Like the fact that the tank is small mainly because i am using a volvo station wagon as my detail rig/daily/track car sometimes lol. I can remove everything out of the car in about 10 mins. It's not the greatest looking setup by any means or most professional but it does work lol excuse the mess a picture of the actual pressure washer i am using right now Picture of everything in the car (windows are getting tinted on tuesday lol And some of my old setups in vans, I just used a 55 gallon drum and put a facet on the bottom, could do about 4 cars with this, but this was with a gas powered mitm 4000 psi belt driven unit pulling 4 gpm max
+1 for ingenuity. Very nice :applause: :shead: Can't think of the name, but that farm equiptment place sells them also
That doesnt sound bad, most i do in a day anyway. I called northern tools but they said its on back order and they wont have it for about 30 more days... any others?
Thanks lol your prob thinking about etheir southern states or tractor supply company. Tsc has a good selection
Tractor Supply has a leg style 30 gallon tank for 98 dollars. The link is below Leg Style Storage Tank, 35 gal. - 2137324 | Tractor Supply Company
I appreciate the link, im gonna try calling them monday. i really do like the compact size of the one you have 2ton, very simple and effective set up im sure. I have a 2002 dodge caravan im using so the 35gal would probably still be fine. Im really looking to be fully mobile. I just picked up a honda en2500 generator off craigslist for $225, pretty excited.
no prob Jose. The generator in the pic of mine is a porter-cable chm 2500 watt generator with a honda gcv160 5 hp motor, picked it up for 45 dollars lol
Man... u make me feel like i spent way too much lol. I hope its enough to power up my steamer while vaccuming, just want it to heat it up so that when i get done vaccuming the steamer will be ready to go. So did you need to buy anything extra to use that water tank with ur pressure washer? Besides a hose. I ended just ordering the one you have, they told me they may have it in sooner, i really liked that northern tools has a call center 24/7.
Nah you didn't pay to much im a craigslist whore lol. Im always searching for good deals on there.Didn't even know that northern had 24/7 call center, that is nice i never called them lol. That sucks i almost feel like i could of went and purchased one for you and shipped it to you. My local northern has like 6 in stock lol. And i did not have to purchase anything else to use the tank. I did purchase a filter setup that goes on the outlet that will be here soon. Your generator should be around 20 or some amp max like mine so a vac and steamer should be fine to use together. I use my 9 amp kobalt kwm508 and my mccoulloguh steamer which i think is 8 or 9 amps and both are powered fine. I have had a 500 watt halogen, small low amp dirt dvel vaccum and my steamer all hooked up and it ran all three of those for about 3 hours.
That doesnt sound like bad idea, i can just cancel the order. Email me when u get a sec pautosalon@gmail.com, thanks 2ton
Watch the weight in the Caravan Jose. I started in a Caravan and within a year had killed the transmission and front brakes as the weight was too much. The chassis would carry it but the tranny and brakes were weak links. I would suggest locating a good used Astro as they are built on a truck chassis and can handle the weight without issue. I ran one for 3 years and never had to put a dime into it.
You are right about the Caravans, but dodge transmissions are crap anyways. Astros or E150s are the way to go.
I didnt know that about dodge vans, ill definitely look into an astro guys.2ton really tried helping me out but they ended up selling out in his area too, fortunately mclendon hardware in my neighbohood had some 35gal tanks for $93 after tax!
Astro's ftmfw lol. I love them because they are super great for detailing and to top it off they have a aftermarket for them for people like me that like to add stuff lol. Here was my old 95 should of kept it but was looking for a 96 or newer because i wanted the newer interior Pic of my 95 astro by my old 94 caprice I went from this to a 97 express 3500. Loved the van but for the little bit of detailing i do(only weekends) it was not sensible esp considering that this was my daily lol
