My car is in need of a claying and I ran out of my griots clay and speed shine. Do you guys think I should stick with griots or is there anything better.
I have 5 bars of Sonus green, its the most gentle but I find it doesnt pick up much. Meguiars blue has been my choice for a long time, also one of the more pliable bars around. I got a deal on some riccardo bars and they are great as well, very very pliable and mild yet they pick up a good amount of contaminants with very little pressure.
My longtime favorite has been Ricardo clay but if you want to buy a clay that is over the counter, Clay Magic is extremely good. I have also used CG mild clay and it did not pick up a whole lot and I wasn't willing to put pressure on it to coax a bit more bite out of it either.
I'd get some Last Touch QD. It dilutes at 1:1 for claying, but a Meg's insider once told me it can be diluted as much as 2:1 and still works great. Meg's Mild Blue is pretty good. Riccardo is awesome, but unavailable in the USA. If I'm not mistaken, Gliptone's Body Bars are similar, if not the same. I can't wait until the end of the AWC patent's, I'm going to boycott their clay in 2013.
i agree about the green sonus. if theres more contaminents i grab my blue bar. its bascily automagic. thats got a little more bite if needed
Pinnacle Poly clay can pick up a good amount of contaminants. Clay Magic blue is the way to go for something stronger.
My top choices are bilt hamber soft and sonus green. If I need something stronger ill go claymagic blue or DD Uber clay, which seem to be the same. Lube...water or ONR at lube dilution. Last touch is nice too as roger stated. I don't see the point of all the "boutique" clay lubes.
