Oh if anyone is interested I met and chatted with the owner of this company:

Lift King - Automotive Shop Equipment

He has some tiles and they aren't too bad but I think there are better tiles available. Oh and this guy has the lift I want too :thumb:

Not sure it helps, but here in the US, Costco has a pretty good deal.

48 Square feet of black and white tiles for like 90 bucks. The 'finishing kit' is another 70 bucks or so.

    The squares are 1' x 1' x 1/2".

    Check this out:

When I do my garage in the spring, I am going to epoxy the floor and then put race deck over it. The reason is that the tiles are open and liquids will get to the floor, this way you can just remove that section because they snap together and wipe up the debris. Dan, there isnt a clearcoat that goes over the epoxy. If you dont get all the oils out of the cement with the acid wash the epoxy will come up over time.

RustOleum.com I did the research on this two years ago and still have the emails. Id paint my garage, but it takes a VERY long time. Hope you're ready to let the vette sit outside for awhile!

That is the only downfall, will probably have to let it sit outside for atleast two days.

i'm glad I saw this post.

I have my garage all set up and ready to be painted. I washed the floor about 3 times now and I think it's clean ;)

I'll be using the Epoxyshield from Rustoleum. I hope it last!

Are you documenting all this and posting a few pics of your progress?

My opinion is biased, as I do not have to pay for my garage floor. My fathers company does many specialty flooring application at large international pharma companies, and they use Silikal flooring.

you will not find this in the Home Depot, and requires professional install with a skilled work force.

I will show pics when I am done. Should be when the weather cools off a bit.

Take a look at the site. IF you want to spend the money, epoxy flooring can and does work.

I have to agree that with the right prep and right Epoxy, there is no reason to see the early paint failure that is commonly associated with the "box kits" available at Home Depot/Lowe's/etc. I did some research prior to having my 3 car garage epoxy coated. After 18 months, I am pleased to state that my biggest complaint is some scratching in the coating from my wife spinning her wet tires while pulling in the garage. I farmed out the floor prep to a local company and used Devoe Industrial paint for the two part epoxy. Devoe is available thru most ICI Paint stores.

I am just a weekend detailer so not a daily use of my flooring. In comparing tiles to epoxy, I do think that the tiles would be more comfortable on a daily user. As is, I usually have a knee pad to use when detailing or doing tire rotations, etc. However, the extreme ease of cleaning up the floor is another big reason I am happy I chose epoxy. Just thought I'd share my experience FWIW.

I wouldn't recommend for a garage floor. Can be very slippery, and you will still need to coat it in order to protect the surface.

What is the desired look you are after? High gloss?

No photos of where the wife's car has left surface scratches. Basically just marring of the final clear coating surface with no cut thru the actual paint.

Looks nice and clean. I am actually going to be broadcasting flake into the clear coat that matches my car color.

    Nice storage cabinet.
