Anybody had any experience with Chemical Guys Pete's Black Pearl 53 wax? I was checking out Detaildeimage site and it's on daily sale for around $38.OO. So what is the deal? Thanks guys.:applause2:
From what I've heard, it's a good wax. We used it on Bill's GTI and it looked killer after Enviroshield and polishing.
suppose to be great stuff. I personally have CG 50/50 wax and that is incredible. Very easy to use with superb results.
great response here, ok how would it compare to Autoglyms HD wax? Heard it is a pain to apply, I live here in New Orleans, La wheres it's 115 with the heat index everyday, so much humidity. Thanks guys again.:applause2:
it shows up as $54 for me on their site. I've personally never tried the HD wax so i can't speak on that. Dodo Juice Rainforest Rub is on sale for $50 Are you concerned with: ease of application durability or looks
I have both. Pete's won't be very durable but gives off very good looks. AG HD isn't that hard to use as long as it applied with the supplied applicator it comes with dampened. I've had HD on my wifes car now for six weeks and counting and it stills feels slick and beads water well. I've used Pete's 53 on solids and metallics with favourable results. I hope this was helpful.
I've used Pete's and HD, and i like HD better, its easy to put on with the supplied foam applicators, just make sure they are moistened. HD is easy to buff off with a low pile MF towe,l especially the one that is provided with the kit. . Don't use a thick fluffy towel because the HD haze is pretty hard and you might end up with the fluffy towel shedding from the wax "pulling" on the fibers. HD sheets better lasts, and side by side on the same panel, it looked deeper and glossier. My vote is HD. Pete's looked good on Metallic, but after a few washes, it didn't bead great at all.
haven't tried the CG stuff, but I do like the HD quite a bit for a paste wax. But agree with removal, low pile MF towel makes it much easier, then a nice plush which tends to snag...
I feel the opposite to most of you gus. I have both and like petes alot more. I had a way harder time applying and removing HD compared to petes.
