Since Phil is working on carrying Prima ;) I thought I'd link to some videos that Richard Lin has done on youtube. Richard is known as "OctaneGuy" on some forums, he's the owner of ShowCarDetailing.com and has a shop in California.

Here's Amigo (Glaze) and Banana Gloss going on a Mini:

I stopped in and met Richard recently, really nice guy. I picked up some hydro and epic partially because I have some light marring in my black paint and partially because mindflux keeps hyping it 24x7! :poke:

Haven't had a chance to try it out on a full car yet but the results from epic on a test panel are promising.

FYI Richard is also the creator of Black Wow, I had no idea...

Hyping it? Just trying to get Phil to carry it. I've yet to use any of it.

Richard is a cool guy. We conversed via email a couple weeks ago about Prima. That's when I learned he made Black Wow too.

Just giving you a ribbing since you are leading the prima charge around here ;-). Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying epic.

soooo......you havent even ever used prima before? and you're hyping it this much?

BTW, that dudes correction technique sucks IMO. he should try keeping the pads on his makita flat sometime.

I'm trying to get my fave vendor to carry it, if hype comes with it then I guess so be it.
Thats Richard Lin. Call him to ask why he does it that way. He has an actual shop in CA. So he must be doing OK. Where is your shop at? Or your correction video?

PS. Cutting at an angle cuts FASTER but carries more risk which is why flat buffing is recommended on the forums. Enjoy.

The sheeting video is considered great? It is not like some of the Collinite reviews where it sheets in a few seconds.

I think Phil should carry it but if it does not move just drop it. It is a limited product (meaning not a lot of places sell it).

But, I know most any product can do what it claims to do by someone who knows how to use it.

It's cool. It's made and distributed in my home state of Colorado. That's where my excitement comes from, along with the positives I hear about almost the whole line. I think it'll fit in well.

I've not seen those. Link? I think it looks like it sheets pretty well.

Found one. Impressive! That's out of a hose with no nozzle. I'll try this with banana gloss and no nozzle when I get a chance. Cool videos.

OctaneGuy's corrections speak for themselves. He does great work and his detail on a 60's Mustang years ago is THE detail that got me into detailing. There are instances where keeping part of the pad off the paint is beneficial.

I would have sworn that it was his father that developed Black Wow. I guess not. His father is a chemical engineer tho, right?

Maybe his father did and he does the marketing? Not 100% sure.

One can't shill without actually universally praising the products they are shilling. ;)

Autopia brought shills to a whole new level. I've seen it all and I call them out with regularity.

    shill | sh il| informal
    noun
an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others.

Your assertion that the only reason why you are doing this is so you can purchase it from DD instead of from Prima . . . . for what? To save $10 in shipping? If you really wanted to try it out for yourself as much as you've been talking about it you would simply pay the $10 in shipping and then come back with constructive feedback.

I found one of Richard's posts quite laughable.

Prima Banana Gas Test - ShowCarDetailing

A topper hiding haze and darkening paint compared to an unprepped surface? No way..... :applause2:

I'll admit man that's really odd that you would be hyping something so much that you haven't tried yet. I have talked about it here but at least I have tried the line and can provide some feedback on the products.

    ....Wow.....

They key word there is "customer". I'm not even one of those yet. I want Phil to carry it so that I can buy it from him. (at MSRP btw). I receive no free products or discounts. That sums it up nicely.

And yes. I want to save the shipping. I'll make my reviews when products are in hand from whichever vendor I end up going with. Though I'd. PREFER Phil. Ultimately if I really do enjoy the products the repeat service to Phil and the saved shipping costs (of merged orders) works out well in my favor and others who I know are willing to buy Prima from Phil.

I make no claims how the products work. No shilling is being done here. Just a hope Phil will carry it. The point of this thread was to show use of a few products so if Phil carries it folks can search here to see what they are. We talk about different stuff here regularly and this is no different.

Dave, believe me I'm no shill for anyone. Yes, I'm enthusiastic about a line I've never used because I'm excited to use it. Since my daughter was born I haven't had the time to pick up a polisher, so some new glazes/waxes/sealants I've never tried are on my radar since my cars are in need of SOME TLC, even if it's masking swirls. I apologize if you are offended by any of this. :)
