Hi Guys, Anyone have any organization/storage tips for storing all of your detailing stuff? Right now my garage is a disaster mostly due to my detailing equipment and supplies are all over the place (along with my lawn mower, snow blower, etc). I want to organize everything but organization is not exactly my strong point. If anyone has an ideas or suggestions let me know. If you have pics of your set up that would be helpful too! Thanks in advance!
Pics are from awhile ago and I have since added a bit here and there in chems and other tools, but I think you get the idea... Wash station right at the garage door. Bucket for Rims and Tires, Bucket for Body work, All chems used in that process stored there. Work bench... I just added a 3drawer unit under the bench to store my collection of MF towels and pads as the cabinet was getting to full! Standarized my spray bottles to all be the same (I hate things that look different..Guess it's a bit of my OCD)

Have a look at the products made by Gladiator. I find them to be very good, and you can buy them at Lowes. Not all of it, but most of their products. It's easy to install, and it's good quality.

Not enough... I've got two and need more. GREAT cabinet! The shelves on the inside of the doors keep all the small bottles handy. I've got all my pads velcroed to the underside of the main shelves. Hmm, they're on sale! TL <---- feels more money about to disappear from my pocket

Ive done away with cabinets, no need for the extra bulk and products tend to get stuck in the back of shelves where you cannot see them. Also im against cabinets because I like to see all my products and tools laid out and pick what I need quickly, while putting back what I need quickly. This makes cleanups or tidy ups faster, trust me it saves time on a detail. Opening and closing doors in useless especially if you have a tight fit with a car your working on. I have open shelves attached to my wall and its great. Nothing on the floor that doesnt need to be is what I like. For bottles... RACKS RACKS RACKS, mounted high up. Keeps the bottles off the shelves so you can have tighter gaps between each shelf and saves tons of space. Plus again being fast for grabbing bottles and putting them back is great. While I agree w/ dsms on cabinets and products getting pushed to the back, with the right size cabinet for each product I haven't really found it to be an issue with my current setup. That said I am clearly just a weekend detailer and not grabbing for supplies as often as he does! As mentioned in an earlier post, Gladiator makes some great products and I have gone with their line up to organize my garage. Here is their 36" cabinet that holds my 32oz and larger supplies. Here is a pic of the cabinets along with the shelving placed in between the two: I also have the track along the 3rd stall's wall with a fold down work shelf. Great for mixing products or for placing items for quick needs while detailing. So far, I've stayed a satisfied customer of Gladiator and have pretty much completed my garage layout using nothing but their products.
I have worked on cutting down on products lately and almost done cleaning up my Craftsman Professional Floor Cabinet. I was thoroughly convinced that I would need two of those cabinets but I think I can manage working with one alongside my Sterilite 4 drawer wide cabinet.

I wish my garage was as neat as some of yours. Great ideas! I'm going to look into getting some cabinets I think. That one from Sears seems to be perfect. I can all my chemicals, MF's, and pad in there out of site. I'll have to spend a weekend cleaning out my garage and lay down a floor plan for my set up. My problem right now is that I need to ensure I'm spending the time putting everything away after I'm done. I do mobile detailing and detailing at my home, so I'm constantly packing up my stuff into my truck and unpacking it. So, after a long day of detailing I'm tired and just want to relax and don't spend the time I should with the after work of detailing. Appreciate the ideas and pics!
