Without a doubt , but IMHO there is a small detailing company that has the same level of detail in uk and it´s for me one of the best worldwide detailers , Polished Bliss.
I actually charge $10,000 for a wash ' n wax. Does that make me the most expensive wash 'n wax in the US?
all my dad's mates with their supercars are always asking me to look after their cars for them seeing the condition of ours i could easily use my weekends to charge them thousands for the work, and they'd happily pay it "because they can", get the local paper to run a story and everyone would be saying im the best detailer in Australia theres only so many ways you can hold a sponge and buffer, most of us hobbiest here are already using the same products. Give me 40 hours to correct my own GTR and it'd look just as flawless, its not neuroscience likewise all the pro detailers here who post their work, and it's more than comparable imo lol @ the noobs peddaling the mega dollar car wash hype
Wow, that's quite a bit of money. However, if he has the market to support it (which obviously he does), then that's a job well done. I'm sure we're all perfectly capable of producing Dalton/Gurcharn quality work but it's just a matter of would we be willing to invest the time to do it, do we have the market for it and can we market ourselves effectively and efficiently to support that niche market.
that's just plain stupid. I can understand a reason where a detailer mentioned the hardness of BMW clear coat, multimple stages of correction involved, and so on, but just to say you paid more for a car, so you can afford to pay more for a detail??? Forget it, he is not a proffessional...
Excess is king to some, not reason or logic on why to pay soooo much for a particular service or good. Justification of the cost is pretty easy to explain when there are willing participants.
Yes he should charge more for the Murci for 2 main reasons , the clear coat its very hard like hell to correct it ( if it was in a poor condition ) and its bigger than the M3. But if the Murci was better than the M3 it could be less expensive and it all depends the time consumed in the detail and level of perfection wanted. I charge 3 times more for a 2005 Bmw 525d tottaly hammerd in swirls and holos , than a brand new GTR...and thes costs of both are very different. You have to be Professional and charge your work and not by the customer wealth , IRS already does that :giggle:
This guy has a VERY nice set up with all the gear, but I noticed the living at home at thirty years old statement ........................... it is going to take a plasma cutter to cut that thick umbilical cord me thinks (lol).
I remember back in the 70s the baseball player Pete Rose was offered $600k a year to play baseball. A reporter asked him if he felt he was worth it? he said "No, but there offering it so I'm taking it!" I guess asking $11k for a deatiling job falls under the same catagory? lol
For those still clinging onto the apron strings of Paul and Gurchan being the UK's premier detailers, spend some time reading through these. Puts the £7.2k detail into perspective..... Is the Readers Digest version of all those posts saying their work is just as good as Dalton and Gurshan? To be honest thats just too much to read! If so I agree with you 100%
Basically yes. If you do have time I'd take a look at them, there seems to be some pretty interesting things in them.
Thanks..I guess you'll never get $11,000 for a detailing job if we don't ask? all they can say is no!
