Hi there i was just wondering is Adam's Polishes In and Out Spray the same as Chemical Guys Fade To Black just because i heard that Adam's Polishes is just Chemical Guys relabeled. Thanks
While they are similar products, they do not perform the same. F2B leaves the trim runny looking and is not easy to wipe off paint. I read the re-labeled rumor a while ago, and ordered $300 of chemical guys products to do a side by side with Adam's products. I can guarantee you these two companies products are not alike. Anyone who would like to test this fact can have full access to my garage and goodies.. As a matter of fact I have a bottle of CG AIO that I'll leave on my porch for anyone willing to destroy their paint. CG doesn't stand behind their products like Adam's does - I tried to return numerous (crappy) products to CG, and they basically told me to kick rocks - i bought it - its mine. I refuse to purchase anymore CG products because only about 60% of what I purchased is worth a hoot. The other stuff is basically garbage.
CGs parent company Warner Chemical makes stuff for a LOT of smaller companies. I wouldn't be surprised to find similarities, but each company can tweak products as needed.
This is comedy. All I know about CG is I have been to the store a ton of times and there are a lot of products i use a ton of Silk Shine, CWG,Revive polish,Final Polish,Butter Wax,Scratch and Swirl Buff,Pro Polish,Synthetic Quick Detailer, If used as intended everything has worked great. Is CG all I like? Nope. I like Durag;oss a hell of a lot too. I will say most of this xxx is better than xxx is in everyone's mind and that's about MOST lines not just about adam's/poor boys/tropicare/CG etc.
I went to one of CG's "car shows" at their showroom in LA - not impressed either, bunch of hoodlums and cholo's. Here's a vid from the grand opening - YouTube - Chemical Guys and Smart Wax Grand Opening and Car Show 2/20/10 Smart wax is re-labeled chemical guys.
LMFAO someone on death row used turtle wax on their grand marquis, I'll stay away from their products.
I know that Smartwax is CG relabeled but Amazon carries Smartwax directly so I get the good price and free shipping. I like their Rimwax (I guess same as CG WheelGuard). Last week I ordered and received a 16oz bottle of SmartCarWash, which is a pH balanced car wash soap with gloss enhancers, but I cannot figure out which CG shampoo is its equivalent. It's not a paintwork cleanser and it doesn't seem to be any of the CG Wash & Wax soaps because those soaps usually separate, and this is just one concentrated formula. It doesn't smell or have the same color of Glossworkz either, but perhaps that is just something to throw off the consumer.
I don't agree with this. I've used both products. Stoners Trim shine goes on nice and easy and doesn't have a gasoline smell, you almost don't even have to do a finishing wipe. its sprays on even and it doesn't run when applied correctly as for Fade to Black, its garbage, its super runny, and smells terrible. definitely never going to buy again. They only get used on budget details. You have to follow with an mf right away or else it runs all over the engine bay. I hate to use it, and once we finish these cans, never again.
I am also a fan of #265. I ordered some Adams to see how it compares. I have to say that Adams has taken over for me. If you are looking for something with more gloss go with #265. The #265 had to be buffed down after application to get the look that I was going for. The Adams did not need to be buffed after application to achieve what I was looking for. The #265 also runs a little when applied and when being buffed down with a microfiber, it transfers quite a bit of product onto the towel. I buffed the Adams product and it transferred only minimal amounts of product onto my towel. The Adams was almost dry to touch immediately after applying. The other thing I noticed is that when I got the Adams on the paint of the car and the glass, the towel easily wiped it off. #265 isn't a struggle to get off of the paint and glass but it did smear as it is a "greasier" product. I will still use up the rest of my #265 but as long as Adams is available that is what I will be ordering from this point on. Hope that helps.
