This was a mess and required over 25 hours of machine polishing. Bulk of this was carried out using multiple hits with 3M Extra Fine and a cutting pad with some areas even requiring FCP as defects were deep. Once all correction was complete paint was refined with Menz 203s and then followed up with Menz 85rd. Paint was then protected with Blackfire All Finish Paint Protection, tyres dressed with Swissvax Pneu and wheels sealed with Swissvax Autobahn. Exhausts were polished with Briliant Metal Polishes then protected with Blackfire All Metal sealant
Not really - that's about par for the course from taking the car to any of the multitude of immigrant-operated handwash places that pervade the UK landscape - and fair play to them - or using a regular sponge and chamois or teatowel (and not pre-rinsing first), if the owner cleaned it. Not wishing to speak for Jay, but the curves aren't really a hindrance as they're not tight angles, but even though the paint isn't that difficult to correct, being fibreglass makes it a shade trickier than regular plastic and metal substrates. Wow, amazing turn-around. How did that paint get so badly damaged? I don't think even automatic car wash machines are capable of that much harm. The car needed so much correction I'm surprised you didn't run out of paint before achieving 100% results! Absolutely brilliant in the end, though. The curves of the vehicle really accentuate the wetness of the paint.
