I just bought some. Customer Service at CG said it is basically Citrus Wash and Gloss w/o the conditioners/glossing agents. Most washes have conditioners/glossing agents but Citrus Wash and Gloss seems to have a relatively high concentration of them. My plan is to use it when I will add another coat of sealant. The theory is that the sealant will bond even better with out the glossing agents to interfer. I will also use it as a sealant/wax stripper before doing a detail. Again, the lack of glossing agents should assist my in polishing/paint cleaing/LSP'ing, etc.. I shall see how it works this spring.
That's what I was thinking, but CG insisted it could be used for maintenance washes when I ordered. Then they finally updated their website and now it's being marketed as a "daily" wash. Dunno... anyone using CWC for maintenance washes?
I wouldnt....i think any citrus based shampoo will strip wax/sealants..they arent marketing CWG as daily, they shouldnt be marketing this as daily if its almost the same shampoo....
I didn't like my CWC as a maintenance wash when I had it. I didn't feel that it was as lubricated as the Megs counterparts but that could be just me  It was excellent for my foam gun though. I need to pick up a gallon for my foam cannon now :headbang:
If you use 1oz for the foam cannon it wouldn't strip LSP (or it shouldnt). Paul said that CWC is milder than CWG
I have used CG CWG for awhile and I have never ever had an issue stripping the LSP when using the correct concentrations! It's very concentrated stuff so its imperative to use the exact amount you need. From what I was told, CWC is the same thing as CWG without the glossing agents. Other than that, they are they same. I think most people probably end up using too much and end up with a solution that is too concentrated. I use 1/4 oz of CG CWG per gallon of water in the wash bucket. This is per the instructions on the bottle (bottle states 1/2 oz per 2 gallons while the website says 1/2 oz per 1-2 gallons). So I end up using 4 gallons of water and 1 oz of product. I use an old measuring cup that came with a bottle of Nyquil to measure out the CWG. It has ML marks up to 30ml. 30ml works out to 1oz. I also have the bucket marked off at the 4 gallon mark to get the water level just right. This mixture by itself works great! I don't "suds" up the bucket. I just fill with water and add the product in and mix with a mixing stick. I find the mixture has much more lubricity this way as opposed to pouring the product in the bucket and filling it with water and letting it sud up. I also like to use 1 oz of ONR in the bucket for added lubricity and protection. When the car is very dirty, I will add 1 oz of P21S on top of that! There is nothing saying we have to use one shampoo at a time! As far as foam cannons go, again, if you use the right concentration, you will NOT strip the LSP. You will want to still follow the 1/4 oz CWG/gallon H20 for maintenance and 2oz CWG/gallon H20 for stripping. You will need to know the flow rate of your nozzle/cannon set up. I use the Gilmour II on setting C only. I follow this chart that was provided in a post by Denzil. Probably one of the most useful posts I have come across (THANKS DENZIL!). I have always used 2oz of CWG with 30 oz of H20 on setting C. No problems with stripping. Chart and post http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f34/understanding-foam-gun-ratios-4513.html#post68324 Now I dont wash daily (who actually washes every day?!?) but I do weekly washes with the method listed above. On a garaged daily driver, 2 coats of JS109 topped with two coats of SV Smaragd is still beeding strong after 3 months! I don't use any special wax based QDs neither....just a wipedown with FK425 after drying. While CG CWG, and CWC for that matter, may not be for everyone, I believe its safe for a maintenance wash IF you use the correct concentrations. :thumb: P.S. I measured a capful out and it comes out to about 10-15ml using the cap from both the 16oz bottle and the 1 gallon jug...so now they are advocating using even less, basically half of what I use. so 1/8 oz per gallon. Unless they are using a bigger cap on the bottle now?
I would imagine it can be used for maitenance washes but I only use it for times when I want no conditioners or glossing agents to aid bonding. During maintenance washes, I like to have those conditioners and glossing agents just for the appearance of my car.
I'm planning on getting Citrus Wash Daily for my next car shampoo. I wonder why they changed the name to citrus wash & clear "daily"? Is it a new and improved formula that's more easy on lSP's provided proper dilution is observed?
