They sell a 36 pack of microfiber cloths for something like $20. 80% polyester, 20% polyamide, which seems to be similar or identical composition to the stuff sold by a lot of the detailer retail sites. Anyone have any bad experiences/reasons not to use these?
The edges scratch the paint. We used them in a class and they left scratches. I wouldn't use them for detailing
Good for dirty works like interiors, wheels, door jambs, and engines but not something to use on the paint.
If you are careful about lifting the edges, they are perfectly fine on paint for the first half dozen washes. That said, they are great for all purpose towels as they last a very respectable amount of time, cheap, light colored to see any soiling, and do not lint. I also use them to clean wheels with ONR and to blot dry any hidden water after a wash. I have 200+ Costco MFs and highly recommend them.
its ok like others said but not for paint,...the ones i got lint like crazy i wont buy em again... i heard the ones from sams is pretty good tho...
everything else is what they are good for but paint portions are a negative. As others have said they do scratch depending on the vehicles paint and what not.
Before stumbling on to this site, I've always used costco MFs and they never scratched the cars I worked on before... But this was a long time ago...
I was checking these out on Sunday Morning but then I rationalized..., "do I really need more microfibers"? The answer was no, so I went to the next isle and bought a container of Cinnabon knock-offs instead. Well worth the $6.99. Joe D.
i just used them on my gf's lexus is 250 and i noticed it was scratching the car... Yikes, any recommendation on microfiber towels for the paint that are a bargain and have a decent life?
those in that particular picture are terrible. they lint and fall apart IME. costco has the yellow microfiber towels by eurow that i would opt for instead...
