I am interested into trying one of the touted DG lineups. How long do each of these need to cure before you move to the next step. I know Richy has indicated that 601 will flash cure the 501? Is anybody else doing this?

    How long between steps?

    1) Clean - DG 501
    2) Flash Cure Cleaner - DG bonding agent 601 (also enhance longevity of next step?)
    3) Sealant - DG 105
    4) Sealant Spray - DG AquaWax
    5) Wax Topper - Colly 845 (optional, should I flip with step 4?)

Yes, flip 4 and 5. killer combo.

    1. pre-cleaner 101/501
    2. apply 601 (no need to buff)
    3. apply any DG sealant (111 or 105) on top of 601 and buff off

I will let the sealant cure for at least 12 hours before top up any spray sealant or wax.

IMO, coli 845 is a based coat sealant like DG 105/111, Someone will chime in later. Sorry for my bad English.

I have used 105 topped with 845 before. The finish it left was noticeably slicker than the 105 on it's own.

did you let 105 cure before top 845??? I always used 105 without any topping. I will use AW 951 or any spray wax until next wash.

    thks

    1) Clean - DG 501 (put on a LC grey pad speed 3?)
    2) Flash Cure Cleaner - DG bonding agent 601 (put on immediately after the dg 501 or wait?)
    3) Sealant - DG 105 (put it on right after dg 105, then let cure before putting on topper?)
    4) Wax Topper - Colly 845 (let cure 12 hours?)
    5) Sealant Spray - DG AquaWax

If I skip the colly 845 I should wait 4 hours to put the AW on the DG 105?

I've done these same steps before and I did wait a couple of hours before topping the 105. While I didn't have any issues that not to say that was the correct way of doing it. I hope this was helpful.

So its true that the 601 will flash cure the 501 so that you can then top immediately?

I've always removed the 501/601 combo prior to adding in the 105. I will try this way next time...it saves a removal step.

Yes it does. It does 2 things:
    1) Flash cures
    2) Adds longevity to sealant.

I am just starting this huge beast of a 4 door, long box F250 in yellow. I am going to try a 4:1 mix in a bottle of 501/601. This mixture was suggested by Jerry to save a step. The only problem is that it will not stay liquid for longer than a few hours. I bought a cheap plastic squeeze bottle to try it out. I should be at it tomorrow. I'll let you know how it works. I may also try to add 105 on it after it hazes. It would also be cool to add 105 to the mix for giggles as well. We'll see.

Nice idea Richy :thumb:, I will try this way on my next detail.

    Thanks

    For clarity here:

-In step 1), are you buffing off the 101/501, then putting on 601?

    - Or are you putting on 101/501, then topping with 601 (still haven't buffed anything off), then putting on 105 and buffing off all three at the same time?

id like to try the DG range too, but im really confused how it all works

reading their product list, it comes across as a mini CG line up with overlap of products

What do you need clarification on? If you're up to the read, there's a huge thread originally posted by P1et about Duragloss...do a search and you'll see it. I can answer your questions too if you'd like.

sweet ill check it out, cheers

id like a paint cleaner + sealant combo

from the looks of things, both 501 and 101 are paint cleaners?

so then what's the difference bw 105 and 111, arent both sealants?

Would you buff off the 501/601 mixture or just leave it on?

Sorry for confusing. You need to buff off after any prewax cleaners, no matter are DG line 101/501 or any brands. If not, the sealant will not bond properly on paint surface.

After buff off prewax cleaner, apply 601 on whole car without buff. Start apply your 111/105 on the first panel (you start off with 601) and You can buff off when it haze. However, I prefer to apply 111/105 on whole car and buff off from the first panel (start off).

I did the same way for all my DG sealants like 111/105/trackclaw and enviroshield. IMO, DG line is very easy to use. I have more than 20 items of DG product :thumb:

its just amazing thread http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/car-detailing-product-discussion/3152-duragloss.htm start off by P1et and GURU of DG products by AL-53 :applause:

I also confused about DG stuff at the beginning. Luckily I got a good and experienced supplier (Singapore DG distributor). I learned a lot from him. He was a professional detailer before and quit few years ago for some reasons. I think DG is selling Enviroshield to him exclusively in Asia. Its pretty good sealant and the durability is last longer compared to other DG sealants. There are not many sealant could last longer more than 1month in our weather here (polution, hot and humid).

I already have the p21s cleaning lotion, can i replace the 501 with that and still have the 601 bond to my paint?

The 601 will help any polymeric sealant.

really what i was asking is, any issue with putting the 601 over the cleaning lotion since it will not be on the bare paint after correction?
