Damn that's wild. I never really noticed the side effects. It could be why I've been slowly going crazy recently.

I bought a gallon after seeing how well it cleaned my rims when you detailed my car last year. It works awesome ... but like everyone else said, you have to be careful 'cause it's strong as hell.

At 4:1, Is Megs WB safe to use on tires? or too harsh?

I don't think it was meant for that purpose. I mean if a little runoff gets on them it isn't going to hurt them, but I think the overall composition of the WB wasn't meant to clean rubber.

But I have heard that the wheel biightener is not safe to use. Is it real?

When I use WB (4:1) to clean wheels, I use it to clean the tires as well. Seems to work as good on tires as it does wheels. But it is hard on the tires' built-in UV protection.

I just got my order in from DI, and tried out some Wheel Brightener on my mom's Mercedes. No real caked on brake dust, but the wheels were pretty dirty. Sprayed them with WB, let it sit for just a few seconds, and washed off all of the brake dust! I didn't have to touch the wheels. When I was done my parents commented that the wheels seemed to have a shine that they didn't have before...I was really impressed.

Wheel Brightener seems to leave behind corrosion inhibitors that are on par with P21S Gel. Whenever I use it, the wheels come out shiny and bead water like nobody's business.

If people are uncomfortable at 4:1, you can always just bump it all the way down to 10:1 or anywhere in between.

I've used it full strength and had no ill-effects if following the directions. Even though the pH is lower when you dilute it, I feel using it neat is more effective.

I have 16oz of P21S gel (used it for the first time) and I also noticed a dramatic increase in gloss over a basic car shampoo. But when I used CG Glossworkz on wheels with a mitt, it has the same look. What does this? What is this gloss agent? Silicon?

A fair amount of wheel cleaners have built-in polymers that bond to the wheel while you're cleaning. P21S Gel and Wheel Brightener to name a few. Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner has a glossing agent in it that leaves the wheel shiny but doesn't seem to offer much water-beading.

Glossworkz is a shampoo that leaves behind a polymer coating to enhance existing paint protectioon and to refresh the shine. Glossworkz will leave water beading and a nice shine on the wheels if that is how you wash your wheels.

Well most of the time I use dawn water mix with a foam sprayer, RG wheel face and XL brush, and APC is how I do it most of the time. Actually have a gallon of Brown Royal, but I dont have the chance to use it before I leave for a month. But once in a while I just use my microfiber wheel mitt.

Actually want to look into 5 liters of Espuma, 19 pounds + shipping. 10:1, most likely the most cost effective cleaner thats not an acid.

EDIT, its actually 15 pounds for 5 liters. About 1.3 gallons

Hey...quick question. A lot of the cars I detail have those plastic wheel covers, not an actual alloy wheel. Should I just use car wash soap and apc on these, or can I use Wheel Brightener on them too?
