Hey guys, Just got new tires on my car (youll see in a bit). I feel so much better and proud to drive it. Just wanted to post up a little write up on it. But to start off- fully redetailed my car about two weeks ago. I always keep it in beautiful condition. Whenever I confront someone with a high-end car in person with my card about my detailing business, my car is a clear example of my work. I QD it everyday before I drive it. Thats why I bought a gallon of CG synthetic detailer. I'm a big CG fan. I love taking pics during the wash process, as its my favorite. I love spraying various places on the car and using the SV brush. Collection: Befores: A little bit of window paint left from some friends writing on my windows when I graduated on May 20th LOL: Wash media: LOL SEE YA 1x SV Insignis and 1x Powerlock after like 3 months. But gots to go. CG Grime Reaper 5:1 While that sat, prepared buckets and foam gun. Rinsed out CG Maxi Suds out of the bottle, as the previous day a client had a maintenance wash. After Grime Reaper and Foam gun Trim and plastics were agitated with 4:1 Mega APC and SV brush. No pics. After wash: After IPA wipedowns and such. I had just light, fine swirls. Opted for one step correction with Uber Green pad and Menzerna Power Finish. Im so stupid, I dont know why I didnt finish up with 85rd Now for the new meats. Front: 275/35-18 Nitto Invo on 18x9 Saleens Rears: 295/35-18 Nitto Invo on 18x10.5 Saleens The guys in the shop were drooling over my car so they let me stay out there and talk to them and watch. I was getting my old Invos taken off and the new ones mounted and balanced. The goods: Wheel taken off. Wheel wells arent dressed. I seriously could have sworn they were. I have CG Bare Bones, but I the arches seriously looked like they were black when the wheel was on. Need to also polish the hub of the rotor. 13" Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors with Cobra calipers. Need to stop all 220 horses the motor puts out lol: The guys had asked my how do I keep my car so good looking. So I explained my business. I felt like I could do what I was dying to do but didnt want to look like a freak. CG QD 1 coat of 3M Tire Restorer My car doesnt look good as it used to though. I had to take my dark tint off because I've gotten 9 tickets for it. Heres what it used to look like. 15% on the windshield and rear window 5% on the sides and quarter windows I also used to have a slightly smoked license plate cover on, as my license plate was the only thing on my car that wasnt black. But of course had to take it off cause the cops... Now I have 35% tint all around. Ugh. Products: Paint- 2x CG JetSeal109 Paint- 2x Swissvax Insignis Wheels- 1x CG JetSeal109, 1x CG Ezyme Tires- 2x 3M Tire Restorer Arches- CG Bare Bones Undercarriage/Gas tank- CG Bare Bones Trim- 1z Gummi Metals- CG JetSeal109 Windows- Klasse AIO Now for the final pics!!! Really turned up the shadow thing, as alot of my car was too dark to see details: Fat tires. Tractionnnnnn: Thank you for looking everyone!!! :applause2:
Thank you! They come in black, chrome, black chrome, and anthracite :yikes: Yeah they are some whack ass lookin tires but feel so good. Thank you! :thumb:
looking good mate i never thought about grime reaper to remove LSP, sounds a bit harsh - ive recently bought CG orange degreaser, and am always cautious not to get it on the paint just in case awesome finish for one step'ing power finish, ive found you can bypass 85RD by using a paint cleaner which has some light cut and oils in it
I just went downstairs and checked. Mine does too. See next quote for explanation. Thank you! Yeah it does sound and might be a bit harsh- on the LSP that is. I never really thought about it harming the paint, and I havent seen it either. Used it on a single stage '88 Porsche paint and it went well. Grime Reaper in combination with citrus wash destroys LSPs lol. It will tear apaaart that temporary (I dont remember which one you chose) protection ony our GT-R Moreover, it hasnt done anything with any weather stripping or trim that I've worked on. So I think its safe, regardless of the manufacturers directions :headbang: :giggle: Yeah Power Finish did the job. I view 85rd as just an extra gloss adder, not really a necessity. Sound right? Thank you sir!!
i was surprised how well 203S finished down on my solid black, and i think the reason is because we're using a DA and thus not utlizing much of the cut available mate the 4 constant days of rain here has pretty much gotten rid of the temp OCW on its own. Anything remaining im sure will be easy pickings for the RMG/VMG i plan on using on a black CCS in a few days
Appreciate it! I honestly dont know why people love them so much ahahha When I first saw them i thought they were pretty sick but now I just dont think a thing when I see them During the school year when I was driving through a elementary school zone and was at the crosswalk stop, some kids said my car looked scary lol Thank you! I know! Everything requires polishing and what not. So much work. At first I was all into modding my car, but then got into detailing. Now I'm on here and run a biz! Also ballsy with the law enforcement. But thats a whooleee diff story Thank you though David! :worship2:
True true. DA works well on softer paint I'm assuming. My paints pretty soft. When I tried using it on some hardass Mercedes paint- no way it would work lol. I'm going to try yellow pads with PowerGloss this weekend on it though. Make sometime for the GT-R man!!! Shes calling your name!!!
hahaha you're telling me im itching to get stuck into again, ive already told the gf, sunday its just me and the car
Do a mad write up. Everyone loves em. All our wives and gfs have to be patient with us lol. I detailed my gfs 99 MB SLK 230 not too long ago and I hook her up with buckets, CG Glossworkz, and just maintenance products. Shes dying for a foam gun lololol
Looks great man! See you switched it up with some JetSeal+Insignis, how does it compare to the PowerLock base?
