There is a lot of bad advice out there. I was at O'Reilly's Parts store a few months ago and this guy who had a Dakota in less than good condition (paint hazed with swirls).

The kid in the parts store was giving him advice on products to remove the swirls. He said he needed two products to remove the larger pores and smaller pores (I think he was trying to say a correction polish and a finishing polish without knowing what he was saying).

They had Meg's there on the shelf including many of the 80's series stuff but giving him some Turtle Wax products and then they started talking about using one of those $25 hand circular polishes.

So that's what I've been doing wrong! I didn't factor wind-flow into the equation! How could I be so stupid...

I wonder what he used to film the video. The quality is quite good (resolution, sharpness, focus, color).

Haha, he might as well say "try and get the wax on as much rubber trim as possible... it makes it looks a lot better"

Go with the airflow, I will have to remember that next time. :shead:

Eh, maybe I'm not giving him enough credit. I was judging his wax selection by the other quality of work I guess ;)

Yeah it wasn't bad. I just thought that when dealing with bodily fluids he might want to mix in a pair of gloves next time.
