    Thanks.
As for my interest toned down on a Porsche wax, I am begining to understand that me getting sucked in to the marketing played a big role. Shame on me.

Something is beginning to gnaw at me though.. I've read in so many instances that the Swissvax containers "crack". The one I have is cracked. If it is a design defect in the packaging and Swissvax isnt doing anything about it, that pisses me off.

Even though the wax is absolutely great, when I am done with this particular pot, I'd jump over to another brand for this reason. Not having a lid that screws onto the pot on what is now a $279 pot of wax (was $249 a month ago) is disgusting to me. It would probably cost $3.00 to make a pot that is worthy of the wax and it would make me happy. The recent price increase of $30 per unit in this economy hopefully includes a packaging improvement...

    Thanks, Joe D

When I picked Concorso up it was $190 on sale and I thought that was a bit steep. As nice of a wax that it is I do not know that I would spend $279 on it even if they did improve the pots. Great wax but not many LSP's warrant paying over $200 for them IMHO. Actually I do not think any LSP warrants over $50 but that is just me. The difference in looks is minimal at best and even durability is not much different. As discussed on here a million times it is 85% in the prep. You are better off spending your money on a good buffer and pads and some Menzerna polish than any LSP. I guess as long as people buy these expensive waxes they are going to make them and sell them. The mark up on some of this stuff is worse than jewelry. Getting off soapbox.

When i had concorso my container wasn't cracked (bigmikela has it now)

once your concorso is done id try the zymol glasur, even though its marketed for porsche paint it to me looks tons better than sv is cheaper and lasts longer.

btw, this thread is worthless w/o pics :)

Nope, not selling it, especially since it would cost me 279 to replace now. My container is perfect. My only complaint is the increase in price.

Swissvax are now producing new wax jars. I have not seen it yet, but I'm told its really nice. AND it looks like they solved the problem by making them much tougher. I don't really know when they arrive in the US, but I'm sure Phil knows :)

That is terrific news. I am really sorry that I tainted such a glowing review of the product with a trivial matter such as the packaging. Its been bothering me ever since I posted the complaint. There was probably no need for me to bring to the forefront an issue that was already being addressed by the manufacturer.

One other thing. I dont touch dry my car with a towel. I dry it with Sidekick handheld blower. Using the Swissvax, The car dries off effortlessly with the blow dryer. Much easier than with the sealant or the waxes I was using before. I use the sheeting method with the hose without the nozzle to get most of the water off. Whatever water that is left (mostly in cracks) gets blown off easily with the sidekick. I really love this wax. I am sorry to be a cry baby about the container.

    Thanks, Joe D

I'm really looking forward to this aswell as you guys :) The first jars only comes with Onyx and Shield. But I'm sure the rest of the waxes well be in the new jars as soon as possible. The jars are supposed to be a little heavier, and I'm sure that will increase the feeling of quality when you work with them.

Joe D: I don't officialy work for Swissvax, but i do some work in the spare-time for them here in Norway. So no worries ;) It's important for customers to share theire experiences, so the companies can do even better work.

I have heard the great news about their new pots as well. I agree with everyone, their pots are the worst of the worst. Both of my pots of Swissvax are cracked, and the lids are difficult to close. Completely unacceptable. I have reached out to their customer service TWICE now and still NO answer, which is also very disappointing.

Frankly, because of my trouble, they should send me two of the new pots.

i contacted swissvax north america. and spoke with a nice man there and he sent me out a new best of show pot . that broke. but transfering the wax into the new pot was a huge pain in the ass. my whole wax came apart in pieces.. this was a couple years ago .. swissvbax should use a pot like lusso uro. those are nice and classy looking too

I use Blau Weiss and love it. Phil continues to pound Crystal Rock into my head every chance he gets.

Bjorke, I agree but I am not proud of the can of worms I've opened here. Especially when I love the wax so much. I shoulda kept my mouth shut. Complaining about something around the watercooler is little different than on a public forum that 1,000's of people visit. JD

I think part of the problem with the lid is when the residual carnuba dries (rock hard) on the treads of the jar it increases the size of the threads so male and female threads no longer fit each other. Then the lid begins to not fit the jar anymore and something ends up cracking. Maybe a good idea when you get a new pot is to put a little vaseline on the threads so the wax doesnt dry on them.

when i called swissvax and complained about the cheap pots .they said that they buy these tubs from another company there just cosmetic containers. there nothing high end about the containers . infact the guy i spoke too agreed with me . its a shame that such a nice wax comes in a cheap plastic tub...hopefully the new ones are nicer

Just opened up my Insignis today and was a pita to close because of the little plastic lid that goes it would get stuck in the top of the lid and make it hard to screw on. Oh well.

I also clean the threads every time I use the wax.

Interesting thread. I'm really toying with the idea of buying a pot of Concorso. I only recently started getting into higher quality carnaubas for use on my ride and am trying to use up my many other unused sealants on friends / family.

I now have Victoria Red (really nice) and just ordered Zymol Glasur but have always wondered alot about Concorso / Swissvax as it gets so much positive reviews. But this flunky pot deal has me worried about pulling the trigger. I'd hate to see such a nice wax get messed up due to a crappy pot / lid. I look forward to seeing feedback for when the new jars are out.
