What is the best spray to get brake dust of a wheel? and stuff for the really caked on stuff That wont effect chrome wheels and polished finishes.
Brown royal is safe for all wheels. Autoglym custom wheel cleaner is also another good product, and you can't really ever go wrong with P21S wheel GEL.
No it is not. Be careful man. That cleaner is such a heavy strong alkaline it will flash polished alum in a second
If you seal your wheels you won't need a wheel cleaner...just wash soap and water and a little agitation. They are so many good wheel waxes and sealants I just don't understand why people use strong wheel cleaners that is going into the ground or in my case the Pacific Ocean.
gotta get em clean that 1st time b4 sealing them. and i second the brown royal warning. i wouldn't use that on aluminum wheels, and if i used it on chrome i'd make sure to agitate immediately and get it off the rim ASAP.
I read about the Sonax cleaner in another couple of forums. I think im pretty much sold on it but 20 bucks is alot of money for 2 cups worth of product. I am gonna look into the brown royal. DG all wheel cleaner might be worth a shot
How about the autoglym cwc wheel cleaner i just ordered 5 liter bottle of that stuff is that good for any kind of wheels
i just used some CWC that i got from spyrals give away the other day and i really liked its performance. It had great cleaning power and was pulling a ton of dirt out of the tires.
I had to use steel wool and metal polish to get out some REALLY caked on brake dust on chrome rims. The results are in this thread here: http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum...star752-detailed-2005-jeep-grand-cherokee.htm
SONAX....works like a charm. However, you might need some clay and some elbow grease if really caked on.
I've been having good luck with CG's Sticky Gel Wheel & Rim Cleaner-CITRUS Based HYPER GEL WHEEL CLEANER $36/gal, but at the recommended working dilution, you get 5/gal of product. Per their web site: The pH neutral formula is safe on virtually every wheel finish so you can use it with confidence, even on high end after market wheels. I've used it on a couple cars now and haven't had any issues with it's cleaning abilities. Sticky Wheel and Rim Cleaner Mark
P21S Gel, Meguiar's Wheel Brightener 4:1, Espuma Revolution 6:1. Wheel Brightener and Revolution may not be safe on all wheels, but they are boss at cleaning up the tough stuff. I've been using Custom Wheel Cleaner at 1:1 and while I do like it, I don't find it to be all that powerful. :shead:
