I detailed this GTR for the majority of the day yesterday. It is the second GTR I've detailed and I must say detailing this made me like them even more. Anyways, a quick summary of the detail. I applied Collinite 845 as a base coat, and applied Autoglym HD Wax on top after letting the 845 cure. It really helped bring out the metallic flakes in the sunlight, unfortunately I couldn't capture it in the pictures, but I was able to capture the reflections pretty well. The car itself was in great condition, I expected the wheels to be covered in brake dust as these brembos are MASSIVE and they are performance brakes. Thats about it though, I didn't pull out much contamination with claying. Interior was in good condition, I didn't do the wheel wells or exhaust tips as it wasn't in the package that was picked. Anyways, on to the pictures and process. They are kind of growing on me as well, real feats of engineering are in that car without a doubt but I am not sure if I would ever buy one personally. Great work btw, I always love the afters of those exhaust tips haha.
thanks bud, feels good to be detailing again. It just sucks that I have exams soon and have to stop again. I've always liked them, just even more now. Surprisingly those exhaust tips were not touched, they're kept pretty clean by the owner.
It was getting late, I took the pictures around 8:00pm or so. So the ISO was high, and I didn't have a tripod with me.
great job i was reading through your list of products as im starting to detail my GTR now - doing bits n pieces each wash in readiness for a full paint correction im finding brake dust a huge problem, but since the wheels are gunmetal its hard to notice the build up if not in full sunlight. i protected the wheels straight away with Z-AIO + 2x 476S and it seems to be holding on well atm some 750km later
Awesome reflections from a paint that color, great job. I really want AG HD, but I don't I need any more LSP's for at least 100 years...lol Sorry if I missed it, but what clay did you use? edit- Just saw it.
congrats on the car, if you're able to maintain the wheels every week or so, just use soap and water and it should be able to get the brake dust off if you have protection on it.
beautiful work. thanks for listing the camera you're using as well, always a question I have for people on their posts.
Awww man! I am for sure going to have to buy AG HD now, it looks great on that silver. Good job dude!
