this is my first detail post on here, basically a enhancement valet to reduce swirling and correct a nasty scratch on the bonnet, the owner didnt want exhaust or wheel's touching as they were being replaced, the main purpose was to get some depth into the lifeless colour. ok first 2 pictures of the bonnet show the scratching and swirls. next a selection of pctures before correction. ok next picture are again the bonnet (hood) during wet sanding using 2500,2000,3000 wet an dry,pr-soaked in soapy water to aid the sanding process. last pictures are after polishing using menz intensive polish then finnishing menz final finnish, topped of with pete's 53 wax. all correction was done using a autosmart smart tool or a cyclone polisher as its known as in the US,thanks for looking john.
thank's was a little nerve racking ,kept using my paint detective to make sure my paint readings were ok.
I remember when you first posted this up on cyc and it still amazes me !! Great improvement in depth and clarity on the paintwork . Would it not be best to blank out the number plate/s tho for customer confidentuality ?
now that is up to the owner in general richard there choice, and yes it is a great improvement in depth and clarity, especially since the correction was done with a simply machine like a DA and not a rotary but this all comes with experience, hey 15 years experience rotary and DA and not one strike through :giggle:. oh your work is coming along nice now richard keep it up:thumb:
Well youv'e got to be INCREADIBLY stupid to get burn through with a DA John, you'll find when my burn through incident happend I was using a ROTARTY polisher since then John you'll notice ive gone on to do a few cars with a Professional Valeter/detailer . Seems like I cant give advice now a days without it being took the wrong way :thumb:
