I bought Prima Amigo lately and now must make a decision with which sealant to top it with. Prima Epic looks like the obvious answer but I read it may need some long curing times and nobody really mentions if it is better than the others or not. There are some other options in my mind. Tropycare TC3 Sunburst Sealant, Menz PowerLock Sealant, Duragloss 111/105, Mark V IP100 (if it has no cleaners) and the mighty white shark FK1000p. Which one would you choose? Would Amigo weaken the durability of sealants other than Epic?
I am a huge Prima fan and I have most of their line. I would suggest putting Prima Epic as your sealant then following up with Prima's Banana Gloss. That is a great combination right there. Otherwise if you are looking outside of Prima then I recommend PowerLock or Collinitte 845.
I'm not jumping on the Power Lock bandwagon just yet, I still think the durability needs to be tested before I'm sold on it.
Thanks. So the competition goes between Epic and PowerLock as I understand Durability beyond 3 months is usually enough for me. But the slickness should be good and long lasting. I have a dark blue metallic car. I've seen PowerLock on silvers and it did look like it added something (good I mean) to them but I wonder how each sealant would show on a darker car.
I have a black suv and a silver van and powerlock looked good on both. 845 is another good choice as well, with great durability.
I decided on Menzerna Power Lock since it is a newer formula and may have something special. Tropicare's were on sale and ordered Sunburst also. I guess I now have enough sealant for two lifetimes (I soon realized that I had Duragloss 111/105 and Mark V IP100 already).
My personal favourite after Amigo is Driven to Perfection Marine Sealant Glaze. use it as a glaze or just as a sealant. Easily lasts a year and works on over 20 surfaces. glass is one along with some exterior trims, chrome etc
Agree 100% on the Duragloss combo. I am looking forward to trying the Menzerna Power Lock once I get the chance...
