What is your favorite product for over a clear bra? I have used many such as Plexus which works nice but has no durability. Zaino works nice but like with any product you need to watch the edges. My installer uses Meguiars Gold Class liquid wax or #m liquid wax and said he likes them better since they do not leave a white line on the edge like some of the paste waxes he has tried. I would love to hear all of your experiences.
CG makes an awesome clear bra product. Can't remember the name right now and I am too lazy to get up and look in my detail box where I have a bottle. Check out their website for more details. It is the best stuff Ive used.
CG Clear Seal is what I use on PPF or Opti-Seal. I would use any sealant as they are more optically clear than wax's, or use a wax that is white and not yellow in color to prevent yellowing. I would not use any aerosol as those plastic cleaners contain butane which can yellow the film, the nozzle of those turn black/yellow due to the butane and will do this to PPF film as well.
I have found Adams Clear Polish which I am guessing is the same thing but cannot find any Bra polish on CG's web site. Is this polish the same consistency of a liquid wax or is it thinner? My biggest concern is it collecting along the edges over time.
Are you referring to the Clear Seal Detail Spray for CB's? Does it have any durability like a wax or sealant? Or is it just a quick cleaner type of product? Either way it looks interesting.
Chemical Guys Clear Seal - 16 oz | Detailed Image Also in the QD section on CG site. It is a spray QD style cleaner and protectant. It cleans pretty good, use it every wash. If you have build up on the edge of the PPF get some IPA on a MF and clean the edge, or you can use a Q-tip as well.
i have clear bra on the skirts only on the M3, and i just use a paint cleaner then plexus i never thought to use a wax as it would add even more cloudyness/orange peel look to it, and im not sure whether a sealant would bond?
Like I said Plexus is going to yellow the film over time. 3m recommends wax or sealant (there of course). As long as you dont use a colored (yellow, blue, ext) wax it will not cloud up the PPF.
I have a bottle of CG's Clear Seal and it works great for the interior plastics (shift indicator panel, gauges, etc.). I believe it does have some filling abilities. Thanks for let me know I can use this product on clear bras.
i just read your post now you're so right about the yellowing of the spray head, think ill pass on the plexus from now on, great tip :thumb:
As long as the surface is clean, a sealant should bond just fine. I'd use a product like 601 to be absolutely sure plus it'll amp up the protection a bit too.
