I don't think a thicker cc would prevent rock chips. Honda's are known for thinner paint. A clear bra would have helped.

If the paint was fading or peeling you might have a case, but rock chips..I don't think so. If you insist, find a detailer or body shop that has a paint thickness guage.

Jap paint is known to be thinner, chips do not really have much to do with paint thickness. German paint is on average thicker than jap but they chip just as easy. Chipping is a function of many things and something that just happens as a result of driving. Dealer nor mauf have anything to do with chips as it is not a defect of the paint unless many people have the same issue. This is not common but has been seen in some Nissan paints and was brought to Nissan as a class action case.

It would be pretty hard to make a case. Paint is paint and will chip, like I said on avg. my GTI paint is thicker than Jap paint and gets chipped as well. Has to do with paint structure and other factors. Dr Chips like posted above is best bet to take care of them and a clear bra.

Regardless of how thick or thin the paint is, stone chips are a fact of life. With all the newer cars being so aerodynamic, the lower hoodline and painted bumperskins are gonna take a s**tkicking. Get a clear bra on there soon or you'll need to paint it as well. I had an 08 Lexus in my shop today and the front bumperskin is just done. Not from big rock chips, but from sand and grit. Looks like its been sandblasted. :( Where are you located?

You will have to find a good installer as it is not something you do on your own and need a pro installer. Where are you located, maybe some around you can help find a good installer.
