Removing Wax from pads?

I use a red pad with a polishing pal to apply wax. But its starting to cake. Its hard to wash the wax off.

Any ideas?

 

dawn? or something you know kills wax on a car maybe

I just use an all purpose cleaner with a brush to clean my pads, this works great for me.

 

hmm..that's weird since I took some nasty caked stuff...i do let it sit overnight though.

 

try the cg total interior cleaner

 

Can you let it sit in a CG MF wash?

 

Wash Directions (Applicators): Pre-soak in a liquid detergent (Dawn Power Dissolver)/ water and then squeeze out wax/polish with your hands and rinse thoroughly. As a pre-spotter: dilute 1 part concentrates with 3 parts water, apply to stain and launder as usual.

Use hot (120oF) water and add 1-2 ounces to a standard size (8 gallon) load, for larger loads or heavily soiled laundry, add 3-6 ounces. Add a teaspoon per applicator distilled white vinegar in the final rinse cycle, the vinegar works to eliminate detergent residue and the acid counteracts any alkaline minerals in the water supply

I think its too weak

I get the DP pad cleaner... 2 scoops in a 5 gallon bucket... let pads soak for a couple days, then off to the laundry mat!!! Super $4 wash!! i add dawn when go to the laundry mat

 

jeez dust sounds like a big process there lol

 

Toss it and grab a new one...

 

I've tried washing pads in the machine and they just end up floating and bouncing around not doing very much.

I always tend to hand wash my pads...

Its WAX that im having trouble getting off. Everything else Im good with the Dawn PD

 

fminus you are really thinking that this is not worth your time and a new pad is cheap enough you should just buy new. you know it, i make around $10 an hour and i would be considering just buying an new pad after trying to wash it a couple times.

but if you are still trying to figure out a way to remove the wax try a strong mix of cg grime reaper and water or maybe some iso just leave them in it for like 10 min

 

The pads are about $5 each
