So I had heard we were getting snow and thought maybe we would get a flurry or two and that the weather men were over hyping things. I wake up this morning thinking I might have a chance to wash the truck......and there is 2 feet of snow. Maryland NEVER gets snow in December. Last year we didn't get our first snow till the beginning of February. SO much for global warming...this should rub it in their faces.
We got an inch this morning, but now it's coming down pretty fast. I believe we have gotten 3 inches in the last 2 hrs. BTW ... I had a hell of a time getting gas yesterday afternoon after work. I literally took me an 1 hr to get gas ... everyone was out either shopping or getting gas. I had a chance to buy a sled for my daughter. Hopefully tomorrow morning we can have some fun together.
we're getting it pretty good now too. at least its covering up all the road salt thats on my car from the snow we got last time.
I spent most the day shoveling and now its dark so I will take some pics in the morning and show you guys the madness haha
I live right next to BWI airport outside of Baltimore MD. About two feet here. To give some perspective, those railings on my deck are about 36" tall. Sorry for the Iphone pic but like Chas said, we are too busy trying to shovel out of this crap. I will try to post some better pics later View attachment 1398
Yeah, 20 inches here in Northern Virginia. As a 16 year employee of Fed Ex Express, we were scheduled to go full throttle Saturday with deliveries, well guess what, we shut down totally. Only the 2nd time I have seen us not make it out because of snow. It will be a rough 4 days trying to get everybody there packages, some people who live in the outer areas (stix) I can already tell you we probobly won't get to them by Christmas. So bottom line, if you are expecting a package via Us (Fed Ex) UPS or the Post Office, cross your fingers and start a prayer.
It is very rare that we get this much snow so the snow blower investment just isn't worth it to me. Luckily my neighbor has one and he helps everyone out, but you still need to shovel the steps, the deck, walkways etc. Oh well, I can always use the exercise...
I thought it was going toi be all hype as well. Maybe a flurry well we got 4". Being out of the North since 03. This was nice. They are saying we may get more Thurs and Fri
