just saw it . nice video.. phil thanks again for the donuts coffee ect. sunday. very nice of you .. have a nice thanksgiving.. tom
it is a great video for a general over view on how to detail. It is a great general resource. By the way cant thank you enough for opening your shop for us to meet at in the morning
I looked at a few of the videos. It seems they skip important details that make a difference. For example, in the polishing section, they don't show a pattern technique nor do they show how a polish breaks down and when to stop. These are somewhat handy introductions, but no substitute for training. Thanks for posting them anyway. It will improve the results of many.
Videos are always interesting especially since he is a detailer but the videos are quite short...just over a minute each. I think the original videos are better. On his undercarriage spray video, I recommend using an applicator to spread it ..less spraying and more spreading since it does streak if not coated enough.
Something I found strange was that he recommends going from the Swirl and Haze Remover on the Orange pad straight to the finish polish (forget what it is called) on the white pad with wiping off the residue from the Swirl and Haze Remover. The problem with doing so is what if Swirl and Haze Remover did not completely remove the swirls or other marring? How would you know that with the polish residue still there. Doing the method recommened in the video, you would go straight to the finish polish step, which would not remove the swirls are marring, and then find out you need to back up again and start over. I think it is best to wipe down your work area after each step so you can inspect your work as you go along. Other than that, the videos were put together well for a newbie.
