I finally got to try out my 1Z Cockpit Premium a couple times after buying it from Phil a couple months ago. The first thing I noticed is the smell. I don't know what it smells like, I guess you could call it citrus, but I don't really like it. It definitely doesn't smell like DP's interior products which have a nice banana smell. The good thing is, the smell goes away after a few minutes.

How well does the product work? Well I'm extremely pleased with the way it performs. You can spray it onto a MF towel and wipe the surface, or you can spray it on the surface and wipe it off. The good thing is it doesn't leave marks like some other interior products will. When you wipe it off, it dries quickly and doesn't streak. It also leaves the surface matte like the factory look. And it doesn't make the surface slippery or greasy. I used it on my steering wheel and pedals and it didn't make either of those slippery either. I'm glad Ive finally found a protectant that can be used on steering wheels. Since that is the part that is touched most often in the interior, well hopefully. The description on the bottle also says you can use it on navigation screens and imitation leather too. It also says its safe for "paintwork, clear plastic, glass, chrome, and metal surfaces." I didn't use it on any of those surfaces however.

Since this is a cleaner and protectant in one, I was a little skeptical on how well it actually cleaned and protected. Well I can tell you that its cleaning power is mild. Its not strong, but it certainly is not weak either. I think it'll work perfectly on the majority of the cars I work on. I'm not sure what the durability is like however. I haven't had it on long enough.

Cockpit Premium is also supposed to repell dust. Well I haven't had it on long enough to really be able to tell how well that works. But dust doesn't seem to stick as much as it did before. On the bottle it says to use it weekly, but my car never gets that dirty. I'm planning on using it once or twice a month. I keep a MF towel in my car and dust the interior with it whenever I drive the car.

So overall, does it do everything it states on the bottle? I think it definitely does, I highly recommend it, and I will be buying the 10L jug from Phil once I run out of this small bottle.

Well thats all I can think of for now. Hope you guys find this useful. Ill get some before and after pictures up ASAP.

from how you describe it, it sounds like the perfect interior product for me. Light cleaning and protecting in one would be nice to have,

Im just so pleased with my interior products I use now its hard for me to justify trying something new, but when I do I think this will be it.

    Thanks D&D

I've said it before... This is one of my favorite products... Awesome product.

And yes, the smell is a bit... odd. Not a huge fan, it sorta smells a bit like a couple drips of ammonia spilled on a lemon/orange mixture.

    Yes, it goes away quickly.

Great review, I picked up two bottles from Phil a couple orders back. After using it 2 times I totally agree with the review. I sprayed it directly onto the surface including the nav screen and didn't have any problems with streaks. I also have the optimum Interior Protectant and can't decide which one zI like better. Although I have only used these products on two cars both perform very well.

Very well written, thanks for the review. Now get over to my garage and do the vette, you know how I hate interiors.

How would this compare to 303 or SC dash away?

I love the stuff. Its a strong enough cleaner for most, unless you're a complete slob, and leaves a nice finish. One thing to consider though, if your interior is a little faded or dried up this might not be the product for you since it doesn't leave much behind.

Thanks guys. Glad you found it helpful. Ill get some pictures of the interiors up tomorrow so you can see exactly what it looks like.

I think 303 gives more shine, doesn't have cleaners, and shouldn't be used on pedals or steering wheels. It also isnt anti static, and I dont think it can be used on as many surfaces such as glass and navigation screens. 303 is also more expensive. I didnt really like 303 on the interior when I tried it.

Ill be testing that out soon, hopefully.

Yep, big fan of the Cockpit Premium here as well. When I first got into all this I ordered some from Phil to try out, and haven't looked back. I don't even want to try another brand...have no interest at all. Anyway, if I need something with a little more @ss, I move up to their Plastic + Vinyl Cleaner. Another great product.

From what I have read, this product is very similar to Meg's Quick Interior Detailer...a duster with some UV properties.

I have been using the 1Z CP since June. As others have said the light cleaning ability and matte finish is very nice.

I have a follow up question. Why shouldn't you use 303 on your steering wheel?

303 would be slippery on the wheel and therefore a bit dangerous for the driver
