My friend picked up this Firebird for a heck of a deal. I was just gonna do a quick one step on it for him as a favor, to give it a little shine, but after I drove it, I knew I had to do more. It rode and drove so well, I figured I would really surprise him with something special. Sorry I didn't get any before pics. I didn't really think I would be doing this much to it. I am horrible at picture taking, so my apologies. I figured some of you might get a kick out of how bad this paint was when i started. It was a single stage BTW. Process: Washed Clayed Washed Menz power gloss+PFW+Flex3401 x 4 Menz power finish+LC Orange pad+Flex3401 Menz 106FA+LC White pad+Flex3401 Collonite845+LC Black pad+PC Dodo Blue Velvet Car still had lots of RID's left, but I would have had to go through the metal to get all of them. Needless to say, guy was super excited when i brought it back to him. Wasn't to hard to get some 50/50 shots This was after the 4 passes of power gloss, before the power finish Finished product.... delivered without any sunshine.
:wow: <-- we should have a smiley for that. That was a hell of a lot of oxidation. Nice job cleaning it up! How was your friend's reaction? Did he cry tears of joy?
LOL, no... but I was... tears of joy to see it go on somewhere else!! LOL He kept saying it looked like I painted it. He accused me off it repeatedly until I convinced him, and showed him places I couldn't get out... that it was IN FACT... the original paint that was on it.
Do you want to be my friend? .... LOL excellent transformation. It's nice to know people that really know how to detail vehicles.
Fantastic job on the bird! I agree with you increasing its value. I bet he wet himself seeing it. Good Karma doing that for your friend.
Looks great man!!!! You sure dont see too many of those old Firebirds around much less a convertible!!! Great great great turnaround.
