That's a beautiful car, one of my dream cars Great detail work, very meticulous. I'm sure the owner appreciated it, especially after such a poor previous detailer
Well to be honest I was a bit paranoid with this vehicle so instead of using the hose or pressure washer (I hardly use the pressure washer) I just got a spray bottle and sprayed water on to the engine bay making sure on being careful on all delicate areas. So after I sprayed some water via bottle, I then put a coat of P21S Total Auto Wash and agitated as needed. Really no different then any other engine bay but I choose to go on the cautious side, I've seen members use their pressure washer in these engine bays with out any issues...I just rather be a little more cautious that's all  As for the interior, I've sat on a few Ferrari's and touched some of the buttons and the buttons have some sort of coat on them. I thought it was all in my head :shead: turns out it is true, all interior buttons are coated with..um..something  that if you use a chemical to strong you'll remove the coating. Good luck with the detail and look forward to the pictures :thumb: Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. Owner of this vehicle was thrilled with the difference and even though he had the vehicle 'detailed' before he was blown a way with the difference a true detail makes to the vehicle. Glad you enjoyed it, as for the 3M, I got it from the UK. Actually I got it from Rich at Polished Bliss when he used to cary the 3M UK products.
The coating is somewhat common on some cars, I know my GTI has soft touch plastic coating on all my buttons and if you use a strong product, such as armor-all as someone used this on there GTI once and it removed the coating, it will bubbles up and flake off, 1z Cockpit is the best for it. It is so mild it will not harm them at all yet it will clean it. Heat, direct heat, could harm the buttons if exposed for long enough i.e. a steamer.
 I steamed this vehicle at it's lowest setting...just to be cautious, but yes this film is very interesting and has a nice touch to it, I've noticed on the Subaru Legacy I detailed on on some vehicles as well. Very interesting film and very meticulous too
I hate the coating, when it wears it starts to peal off. Right now my car is about 3 years old with 55k miles on it and the window switches have bits of the black coating missing just from normal use. Good thing that is the only ones that wear that bad but still dont like it. It feels nice and looks nice but wears really bad and just have to be careful when cleaning around it.
More then happy to help eace: Thank you Paul and yes I enjoyed my self with this vehicle, love the attention to detail on these Maseratis :druling:
