How to check DeWalt 849 Carbon Brush?

I need info, it's already been a year now, i just want to check the carbon brush.
Please share how to check it, how to open and how to maintain?

I think you just unscrew the black phillips head plastic peices and those connectors are what wear out. If theres nothing wrong with it I would just blow it out like it says.

 

Sorry, I think most of us use the Makita...that's probably why you haven't gotten more responses.

 

Just found the schematic. Might help to get the ball rolling. I just send mine to the service centre. Less hassle.

ps: Not sure on how to resize the picture

 

6 is the screw piece and 3 is the connector that goes bad I think, it may just need messed with and not an actual new part
