I buffed this aftermarket rear wing last week with my orbital Flex. I really took care of generating no heat because i knew these plastic parts could react to heat. The passes were very fast (~10-15cm per second) without any pressure. The paint was still ice cold after each step: - M105 on purple wool pad - SIP on whipe pad - PO106FA on black pad Everything was perfect after the job but apparently, the day after, these bubbles appeared. How could this happen? The body shop accepted to repaint it for free because it was a crappy job, but still... I'm wondering how could these steps generate such bubbles 24 hours later.
Looks like the paint wasn't properly done and the gas screwed it up. You didn't seal or wax it did you?
Yeah that could be the problem, when was the original repaint? if it wasnt baked, which it prolly wasnt...you needed to wait for the "outgassing" of the paint before sealing or waxing....but still glad they agreed to repaint it!

Dude..there are a select few waxes on the market that can be applied over new paint..but not many (I had one for sale last month in the "peculiar items" section). You WILL run into problems and suggest you change the product you use on fresh paint ASAP.
Well it's one thing to polish/buff it's another to wax, two different things. But like everyone has said you can polish all you want just don't apply certain waxes/sealants afterwards.
yeah the solvents have to outgas otherwise you get solvent pop which are lots of grouped together bubbles and are very ugly
