My buddy is getting ready to sell his 2004 BMW Imola Red 330i ZHP and I am prepping it for him before he sells. He doesn't want to spend a lot getting it ready so the initial plan was just a wash, clay, glaze (DWG) and wax (1Z Einszett Glanz Wax ), but in good faith I can not put my name on this unless I hit it with a polish (see picture). I am trying to limit it to a 1 stage polish and need to do the work this Saturday. My polish arsenal consists of M105, Menz PO83Q, Menz P106FA and Menz PO87MC. I am thinking P106FA (on a white pad??) may do the trick, but would like to know if anyone has a better suggestion or approach, so I can save some trial and error time on my end. I'll be utlizing a PC and don't really have the time to order a new polish so I am hoping I can tackle this with something I already have on hand (but I'm open to picking up something locally if its available). Thanks!
I think the P106FA is a good choice but I am wondering if the white pad will be aggressive enough on that hard clear especially doing one step. It could be sufficient enough though. Test Panel???
that's what I would suggest.... 106FA with white pad... you in the chicago area? I'm in waukegan and have some SIP that you could try on a white pad... let me know ....
I'm not sure how hard the clear is on the bmw. I have all the polishes you have and a PC. From my experience M105 followed by PO87MC will fix that right up if the clear isn't hard. M105 with an orange pad will cut quick and finish down nicely if you have experience with it. If it is hard then I'd follow it up with P106F. PO87MC doesn't work well on hard clears. For a one stepper I'd say your best option is SIP. I don't think P106FA has enough cut work out those swirls especially with the PC.
Rant coming.....This is why I hate living in a condo with a "no car washing" clause in the by-laws, all kinds of arrangements need to be made ahead of time, borrow a friend's garage with water and power, etc.... If I had a garage I could work in anytime his car would be done by now . I'll try the white and see how it goes. Thanks for the offer, much apprecited :thumb:. I have some SIP (PO83Q) and I am hoping I don't need to break it out because I know I'll follow it with the P106FA and then suddenly it tuns into a 2 stage and I am already giving my buddy the "friend" discount...next thing you know I'm netting less than minimum wage . Another good idea. Looks like I have some testing to do.
