Just picked up a Canon 40D

I have been looking for a DSLR for a long time, in the mean while, in order to fulfill my desire on shooting some pics, I borrowed the camera from my roomate, I want to learn photography so badly, these are some of my random shots, hope you enjoy!

Not bad but there's room for improvement. What settings did you use?

 

first two do nothing for me.

number 3 is awesome. great composition, but I wish you got the whole wheel in the picture.

all IMHO. I wish you the best, it's a wonderful hobby.

 

Once you pick up the photography hobby, you might forget all about detailing!

I just detail to FUND the photography disease!

Congrats on the new camera, wish I would have gone with that one when I was in the market but my Rebel has served me well :thumb:

I agree that last picture looks good but I would have to agree with including the entire rim and tire...but still great shot. The second shot would have been nice if it included the rims/tires...but it's all personal preference.

There is lots to learn when it comes to photography, trust me I know I'm currently taking some photography courses as I've felt I hit my peak, any who the classes have opened my eyes to a whole different way of capturing a scene/person.

Nice I have a 40d my self. New glass is going to hurt your pocket book.

 

composition is pretty good color is good but the sharpness isn't quite hitting home for me, nice pick up though! have fun learning, photography is quite the addiction. dropped 400 for a lens today xD

 

I want a 40D so bad... maybe one day.

 

What kind of lens and settings did you use?
