My wife is being sent on a conference to Washington, DC so my oldest daughter (almost 6) and I are going to tag along. Free room and free flight for the wife..why not? I know there are a ton of free museums and stuff along where the Washington monument is...what sites would you recommend that my daughter would find interesting? Thanks. BTW, we leave Sat morning and return Wednesday. When we land, we're gonna go see the tomb of the unknown soldier as I am in the ceremonial unit of our department and want to see the guys march.

Arlington Cemetery is VERY moving. Maybe you can catch the Marine Corps silent drill team. Other thoughts (in no particular order):
    Lincoln Memorial
    Viet Nam Memorial
    Concert at Wolftrap
Drive to Baltimore (mmm, crab cakes)
Smithsonian (great exhibit at its Dulles Airport annex)
    Washington Zoo
Get a weekend Metro pass and you can ride all over the place. Have fun!

What's the Metro pass? A bus pass? Are the routes clearly laid out somewhere? Maybe it was the Arlington cemetary I was thinking of...is there also a tomb of the unknown soldier where they march as well?

Just a short 2.5 hour ride south down I-95 and you can be at my house and she can play with my kids while we do some detailing!

Oh, PLEASE, FOR crying out loud, you're the guy that talked me into getting the Dynabrade. For a guy who claims he doesn't know how to use a buffer, you sure have a good one. That's like a eunuch being married to a porn star!!! Don't buy it for a minute!!!

Im about 20 minutes from DC, and the one with the Dynabrade. Dana still uses his old beat up DeWalt, time for a new one buddy.
