Hey guys, I drafted a pricing flyer, can I get your opinion on this? Thesie prices keep me paid based on how long these usually takes, covers my costs, and it is fair since I don't lease my own garage. Some feedback would be great guys, thanks link removed by user to protect interests of paid advertising. Thanks for input everyone.
Well with those prices your sure to be busy, however by the time you pay 4 supplies,Gas & Equiptment + time driving back and forth+setting up you'll probally clear $150 a day. If this is all your looking for then you'll be fine as long as you do Quality Wash-n-Waxes. Skip tha re-wash on the premium package Drop that $15 wash also As a matter of fact, drop that whole bottom portion of your ad. IMPO it just adds confusion
Thanks for that buddy, I'll adjust it accordingly. I said "from" just so that for anything bigger than a sub compact I have the ability to charge more. Which bottom portion?
FYI, for basic stuff, I charge 75 for exterior, 75 for interior. I ALWAYS claybar the vehicle. That should just be included in your pricing. Mine is exterior clean/decontaminate/seal for 75 bucks.
Of course, polishing is over and above. 125 per trip around the car is REALLY bare bones lowest you should go. So, for interior/exterior and a one step polish, would put you at 275. That sounds about right.
Perfect, I've adjusted my prices upwards to give myself a better hourly yet still be competitive to shops around the area. I was thinking about charging a service or admin fee...but that seems sneaky. I have to remember that a lot of my clients don't know the difference between $10 car wash machine vs. a good hand detail. Heh, lol trying to use my BComm to design this is harder than I thought. Hopefully I can still get the amount of business I wanted with this. It's easier to discount and offer additional free services VS. asking for more money however, and I know that.
Perfect, I'll up my premium package from the $150 I have it to $175. Also, I'm adjusted my clay bar package to reflect the price of yours.
I like the top part of the flier, kinda confused by the bottom of the flyer. Just some comments: If I was a potential customer, I would be wondering how much it would cost for a wash and wax or expecting that kind of package. (one without the claybar) For the premier package, I would have assumed that if I get the extended, it means I get the refresh package. Do you really need to repeat that the refresh is included? Might want to clarify the Free re-wash that its a one-time re-wash...unless you mean otherwise. I would also be interested in how long you estimate it would take. The confusion comes for the interior services, I was expecting some interior packages. Hope that helps.
Okay, I'll incorporate those suggestions including a "total time to complete" line as well as some sort of interior pricing and packaging. There have been times I've been royally screwed by offering interior packages (the insides have been disasterous most times). I'd rather quote before working.
I put $$ and up on my brochures for each service to cover that. I also put a note that says soiled interiors extra.
I don't mind threads like these the only thing I ask is please don't show the detailing company name. I'm just trying to be fair to those that pay to advertise their detailing company here at Detailing Bliss.
There are a few things I would reconsider. On your smallest package, change the line "wheel / rim degrease" to "detail tires and wheels. How you word your flier shows just as much about you as your work. Get rid of the interior dressing. Dressing interiors properly takes too much time and you are only charging $35. Clean the car thoroughly and thats it. I charge $60 - 75 for the same package and I don't dress interiors. Maybe reword it like... Hand wash and dry Detail tires and wheels Dress tires Vacuum interior Wipe down all interior surfaces Clean all glass For your second package, change the "synthetic wax"? to sealant. Nobody will understand what a synthetic wax is but most people recognize the word "sealant" . They may not understand exactly what it is but they have probably heard the word so its familiar to them. Makes them feel less uneducated. Seriously. Any package where you are detailing the interior and exterior should include cleaning all jambs ( incl fuel filler door) to maintain the flow of cleanliness from the inside to the outside of the car. And bump your price up to at least $120. Your third package should include a sealant instead of a wax. They last longer typically and stand up to abuse a bit better. Top it with a wax if you choose, but always start with a sealant on clients cars. Get rid of the re-wash. Giving stuff for free is the kiss of death. Remember, no good deed goes unpunished! LOL Up your price. Just going around a car once with a polisher and even a finishing polish will kill 4-5 hours. This package is a solid day of work. Charge for it. Add leather conditioner to this package. Get rid of all the other services on the lower part of your price list for now. Keep your list simple. Having a fast food menu is very confusing to most people. Make it easy for people. You have a wash pkg, a wash and wax and a single stage polish. When I first started, I only had the first two. I didn't offer shampooing, engine cleaning or polishing. If you are doing mobile work you have to keep it simple. Don't try to be everything to everyone. Unless you are doing shampooing by the hour, you will almost always lose money on those jobs and there is someone down the street willing to do it for $10 less. Let 'em. Focus on a couple of profitable packages. You can always raise those prices as you get busier, but for now concentrate on doing a couple packages better than anyone else. Just my 2 cents. Hope it helps.
Very helpful, I will adjust prices and stop trying to be a jack of all trades. I'll start my second package from $200, i'll remove the "crafty" and "trying to be a smart ass" wording as well. Thank you very much, this helps alot. Photoshop, I thought personally it looked like crap, but meh. Thanks for the compliment
Just to update the changes I've made across the board: - Increased prices of all service packages and some "a la carte services" (the reason these are there are to increase perceived value of packages) - Changed the package details to a fair amount of services for the price - Changed default LSP to Sealant (probably going to use my surplus of DP/PB and Menz) - Changed the wording to sound "more to the point. I'll post my new version in a second. Packages now reflect at the very least a $5 savings + there's an extra service which isn't priced. I'm having trouble with the premier package. - On the one hand, I like to be able to offer this type of service as it really gives that "wow, let Aaron do my car" feeling - However, if I price it any higher... i'm charging as much or MORE than actual garage locations in the area, so i guess i'll either work faster... or find a way to charge more. ANyways here's my new old flyer...
