How it all started for me ...

I post on another car forum and one of my older threads was brought up for some reason.

It was when I first thought about starting a detail business, I had no idea about detailing, products or even how to run a business for that matter so I made a thread in the detail section asking a few Q's and to see if this would be a worth while job

My original post was the following, posted in late 2007...

Its funny to see how that thread progressed. People asked if I would do paint correction and I was quick to say "No" but I guessed I nixed the no paint correction idea right when I started working on cars :headbang:

I guess thats how it started for me, just a newb who asked some basic questions and it turned into a real passion and business. Im glad I made that first post and got into detailing, its honestly one of the more rewarding "businesses" you can be in and I always look forward to presenting that finished product after a long detail. I really enjoy developing a skill set and knowing there will always be room for improvement.

Sure you wallet takes a big hit every now and then when the product "bug" bites you but other than that its a cool hobby/business and passion to be a part of.

Neat thread. Thinking back to when I started my detailing. After my first car purchase, I just wanted the damn thing to shine and stand out. After a quick Google search, I found an amazing amount of info about "detailing" not just washing the car with my t-shirt and mop bucket. I try to enlighten people who are also into cars but they don't take me seriously. It's their loss when my car is the shiniest one on the block.

I think waaaay back to when I started detailing seriously...it was so long ago..like 2 months I think. Ah, the good old days..lol

To the OP, it is great you are as passionate as you are. I am like that too, I enjoy detailing so much.
