hey guys, I'll be taking over this Pathfinder once I get my license. I have plans for a lift and some 32" A/T Tires, plus some others. Anyways I have a problem with rust on the exhaust tip. I don't know whether to get a new tip welded on or get it cut off and have something else welded on. Anyways let me know with you suggestions! Thanks, Brendan
What does it look like stock? I would suggest cutting off the rusty bit, and making it look like stock again. Shouldn't cost you more than $50...
Like that but not rusted? I'm not to sure haha:shead:. I'll get it cut off I guess just take it to a muffler shop and get them to cut it off and weld on another pipe? I just want to have it fixed before it spreads.
For that extra clean look, you can always cut it back to where the muffler is! And you can do that yourself...
Yeah like P1et mentioned, I would rather have it cut at the welds right at the muffler and have a new pipe re-welded to it. That would give you the best look IMO.
Cut it off and sand down the remaining burr's. Walmart has quite a few nice looking tips that come with strong clamps so no need to weld. Even a truck accessory store has some bigger ones too
Thanks, I'll probably end up doing that, I don't want to run into this problem again in the future. If I sand it, won't it start to rust even more once it comes in contact with more water later? Thanks, I may do that Thanks!
