What network is F1 showing on? I was looking for the race but couldn't find it, figures I wouldn't get it with crappy college cable. :waiting2:
Nice to se you jumping on the F1 bus Carlos! KERS = Kenetic Energy Recovery System. I believe the generator is actually connected to the crank. Here is alink I quickly found explaining it... KERS technology revealed
It's funny to me when people say a driver was 'stuck' behind another driver. I understand the aero issues of F1 but, if the car behind is that quicker than the one they are following then it should be able to pass. Grant it the circuit has to be passer/takeover friendly. It amusing that every season rules are changed to make overtaking easier and it just makes it so much harder to do so. The engineering is great and the cars are just phenomonal to look at and hear. Just my two cents.
Gotta keep in mind that some of the time lost is in the turns, what hurts the lap times of a faster car trailing behind a "slower" one. The faster car has to slow down a little sooner then the "slower" car etc... to avoid a collision usually. But driver's like Alonso, he don't care. Hamilton sometimes will get wild. Either way when Alonso is on it, he is very entertaining to watch. :applause2: Not to mention all the otehr factors of performance, etc...
Big Brawn fan here - I live 5 mins from the factory and have a friend thhat woked there up until very recently. great to see the current form and Jenson doing so well. :thumb:
Thank you for the sites guys, I was reading a bit on the race coming up, looks like a very difficult track oh and I was also looking at the G-force some of those turns generate :gasp: :gasp: wow very impressive. Look forward to the race, best part I'm on holidays for that week :thumb: I've also been reading on the new technology, sounds very good and interesting...but I still need to read some more :computer:
I understand where you are coming from Michakavel. The racing itself isn't to intersting at times because of the lack of overtaking but, there are other aspects that keep me interested and waiting to see the next race.
...and live within 10 mins of Brawn, Red Bull & Torro Rosso. Have visited a few as well This season is the best for ages IMHO, with much more entertaining racing than recent years.
Guys, Ferrari might drop Formula 1...Due to a budget cap. Read here: BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Formula 1 | Ferrari issue F1 quit ultimatum
BUT Good news is, Aston Martin will join! BBC SPORT | Motorsport | Formula 1 | Richards ponders a return to F1
LOLA is expected to make an entry for 2010. Also one other US team besides USF1 is in the rumors (according to Bernie Ecclestone) as well.
Any one see the practice round? I recorded it and just finished watching it. I can't wait for Sunday, there is hardly any room and the course looks extremely technical...I'm expecting a few crashes :cheerl: :cheerl: Another practice round coming up, better yet it was cool watching one of the engines blow up (can't remember who's vehicle that was :shead :thumb: Wow this Indi stuff is wicked stuff woo hooo
That's an understatement, it's mind blowing the speeds they blow by on the turns, specially the tunnel :what:
it really makes nascar seem like a total joke.. i mean those cars are engineered like a toilet compared to an f1 car.. and all the stupid americans LOVE nascar.. it's the same as watching skittles being flushed down a toilet.. just no comparison to F! and what goes into it.. f1 teams look to shave .000001 second and if they can they make the change.. one thing is they ruined F1 with some of the rules and the Kers unit has got to go an 80kg POS killing merc and bmw... Button's car is just way way way too good.. when honda told them they were pulling out of F1 there went their engines from honda.. so they signed a deal with merc and had to make some crazy last minute changes b/c the design was different even though it is a spec engine.. so they had to work around a new engine seating it lower and changing the rear diffueser which is what is giving button the huge leads.. i mean he is a good driver but still.. just funny how F1 tried to level the playing field and they lost at that with all but one race going to button. really a shame you know honda is kicking themselves for not supplying engines regardless.. i know the change made the big difference going to merc and the diffuser but still you never know.. braun is just too fast... still another great run in monaco.. and there really isn't anything better than monaco. besides the green hell..maybe
