My dad just nabbed it off my camera after a week of me getting to use it. I'm going to miss it a lot. I am tempted to buy one, but then again, know that I need a better camera than my Rebel XT...

 

Aint that the truth, I've thought I would say this much, much latter but I'm now ready to step up to the next body, rebel just aint cutting it anymore, nothing wrong with it but it's a very great entry level camera. I've impressed even my self with this photography gig, very addicting hobby...just as bad as detailing, but like detailing it's a very, very rewarding hobby :thumb:

The lens is transferrable to a new body anyway. It can't hurt to pick up the lens even for an entry level. My friend with a Tokina 11-16mm produces amazing pictures. I was just trying to find some to link, but I can't find the thread on that particular forum, haha.

yeah, there was a lot of PP. it was mostly to do with sharpening, but the sky got some too to make it more blue than what it was

i had to sharpen it a bit cause i shot it at iso 800. it was what i was using in doors and forgot to switch

the pictures look real good and i have a lot to learn about post processing. do you have the original pic too?

 

i was doing photoshop work before i got into photography, so this was a bit natural to me. please ask if you need anything clarified

1. correct white balance because it was shot in raw



2. use levels to make the grass and flowers pop more. i used the black and white droppers, the middle triangle and the one on the right.



3. up the saturation a bit. anything over 20 looks a bit unnatural to me



4. sharpen everything a bit with the unsharp mask filter



5. make a new layer and change it to soft light. use your gradient tool set to black and white and make it to your preference for the sky

 

My dad has the 40D, so he'll probably sell that to me. He is waiting on the Canon bodies to come out with built-in GPS, so that he can track his photos that way. Hopefully they will come out soon, so that I can start playing with the 40D!

I was looking at the 5D MkII but it's a pricey machine! That with one or two L lenses would be all I'd ever need though.

But again, hopefully soon GPS will be built in!
