Back in November of last year I had my car rustproofed by Ziebart here in Ottawa and rather than using an oil based product, they used more a jellylike substance that's almost brownish-gold in colour. It's a very thick substance, so I was wondering what you guys would recommend for removal? This stuff is all over my door jambs and on other exterior panels. I've attached a picture to give you guys an idea. I was figuring at first I should pressure wash this area but I'm a bit hesitant as a lot of water will get into my car. I'm not sure if washing this area with regular car wash formula will do the trick. Any suggestions are appreciated.

yea give Grime reaper a shot .. use a strong dilution ratio .. but i think tardis is your best bet .. never used it .. but it seems like it destroys everything

The solvent d-limonene works wonders on that stuff. Just be sure to clean it well after.

The regular dilution ratio for Grime reaper is 1:5, what do you recommend instead?

Ick... Don't get any of that junk put on your car in the first place!

It only gets worse and worse and worse because it pics up dirt and gunk. I've been working on removing it from my car and have had good luck using 3M adhesive remover.

Yea I think I learned my lesson this time, I will be using Krown next winter. Where do you get 3m adhesive remover from?

I got some at Walmart last time, cheapest I could find it... and it isn't the cheapest stuff but it works 10x better than straight acetone or lacquer thinner.

the rust proofing will come off with Prep Sol.....I did a few cars with overspray of rustproofing and it took it right off.....also kerosene will remove it and it is paint safe....

First car i had with it I called a buddy in the body shop to ask for removal tips and was told Prep Sol or Kerosene....I had prep sol and it worked....I tried kerosene on another car and it worked...much cheaper also...
