Had the pleasure of working on a Porsche Lapis Blue '99 996 Carrera 2 CAB yesterday. The owner wanted to "freshen" up the paint without a full correction but with protection, so I opted for a one-step solution without a total remake. I'd say I got about 80% correction though. Wash: Prickbort MAC 124 degreaser High pressure washer Meguiars NXT wash 2 BM Rims/Tires: Sonax Extreme Rim Cleaner Sonax Tyre care Paint: 3M Perfect-It III Extra Fine Cut Duragloss 105 TPP Machine: Metabo rotary 3M backingplate Metabo small backingplate Pads: Sonax orange polishing pads in various sizes Meguiars applicator pads Plastic/vinyl: Polytrol Pre-Wash: Rather dull and uninspiring paintwork. Sonax Extreme Rim cleaner in action, this stuff really is top notch and is ph-neutral too. After drying: Swirl heaven.... Front left Bonnet Bonnet test area After one quick pass with 3M EFC After two did the trick Did the rest of the car with two passes. Note that I didn't do the cab as the owner would do this himself. I had previously done the hard top that is now set away for summer storage. Also did a full wash and dry after polishing before DG 105 was applied. Gave the rims some 105 as well...
