A good friend of mine phoned me up asking if I could detail the interior of his truck, like I would turn down a detail :thumb: The truck as it was delivered to me: Oooh, this should be good for the steamer :thumb: Speak of the devil, I filled the steamer up with RO water and let it warm up. First thing, all personal belongings were removed and put into a back, floor mats were also removed. Then I started by giving the interior a good vacuum as it really need it: After the vacuum process was completed, which felt like it took forever :shakehead: It was time to let the steamer work it’s magic: Oh this was interesting, I steamed the driver door wiped it off with a yellow microfiber towel and this is what I was left with on the micro fiber towel: I had my work cut out. Well after I wiped the door, with the help of my air compressor I removed left over moisture: That was only the driver side door, the rest of the vehicle looked something like this: Nothing the steamer can’t handle though: :giggle: I got a kick out of this picture :lol2: Well all surface of the vehicle was done with the steam, some areas required multiple pass with the steamer, which is a first for me because usually with one pass with the steamer is sufficient to clean all surface area…not with this truck though  No it was time to take care of the seats, again steamer is used with the help of those lovely yet dispensable micro fiber towels :thumb: I also noticed that the head liner in the truck was quite dirty, so I steamed that as well: Now I honestly didn’t think the headliner was that dirty, but this told me otherwise: Once the seats and head liners were done the carpet was steamed next: Now this I was expecting, here is how one of the towels finished off: That just about takes care of the interior, oh and I make it look as though it didn’t take that long but it really did, took me about 8hrs vacuuming, steaming, wiping….ooh and another thing that was a shocker to me was that it was the first time I ran out of water in my steamer…..lots of steaming in this truck. All that is left is the windows, that will come later. Now it was time to ONR the exterior with the two bucket method of course: ONR didn’t take as long as the interior, thank goodness because I was running out of steam…:giggle: no pun intended. Well now to finish off the windows, for this Invisible Glass was used along with a glass microfiber towel: Well that about does it, vehicle is all done now and it only took me about 12hrs  Well here are the end results: This is the only picture of the exterior of the truck: Well hope you enjoyed the detail eace:
Wow Carlos what an amazing job, man was that interior dirty. That steamer is a fantastic machine and you just keep making me wish I had one myself.
Good job! You certainly get everything out of your steamer. I didn't realize it had so many uses in the interior.
nice clean up!! Honestly, do you think it would of taken that long doing it the traditional way? With APC, brushes and what not?
Glad you guys enjoyed this one and thank you for the feed back, very much appreciated eace: Well to be honest, last time I detailed this truck it was in the exact same shape as the second time around and back then just in the interior it took me an entire day and I mean a full day in the interior not even being able to wash the vehicle it was a full day dedicated to the interior. This time around I was able to finish off with the steamer a little faster but I was able to finish the truck in one day...long day but managed to get it done. Also the seats had some serious stains, with the help of the steamer I was able to remove majority of them..not 100% but at least 80%. The more I use the steamer the more I get familiar with it and I think that's why I'm getting faster in interior. One thing's for sure, I'm definitely putting the steamer to work :thumb:
Maybe you could take some metal polish to the steamer. Looks like you've been riding her hard and putting her away wet. C'mon Carlos - wheres the love?
Wow...Love the finish! Great work:thumb: I saw so many car interior look just like that on forum:yikes: but in my country.. really hard to find one like that!:shakehead:
 last detail I didn't clean the steamer, I usually wipe it down after each use, try to keep is as clean as possible. My garage floor is a mess at the moment...too much snow around here...cant wait for the weather to worm up. Thank you Buddy, glad you enjoyed it eace: Thank you for the feed back, very much appreciated. This steamer is not cheap but worth every penny if you ask me, if I remember correctly the new price on this steamer is $2,600.00 or so. yes, on really bad stains I would normally use chemicals but I didn't use chemicals on this truck as my friend will be bring it back to me within a few months for a full detail. Thank you for the feed back sly eace: you guys are lucky that your vehicles don't get this dirty, around here this is normal. It's all due to our climate/weather, the snow does a number on the vehicles :shakehead:
grrr i'm jealous of your vapor chief. I'll trade you for my ironing steamer. Does wonders for clothes. You can't beat it
It's amazing what a quick job a steamer makes of an interior when in capable hands. How does the steamer leave the interior smelling? Odorless, or do you have to use something to make it a but more acceptable?
Thank you for the feed back DG, good to see you again eace: Well I got my steamer from the US, I haven't seen a distributor here in Canada but to be honest I never looked. lol I got one of those steamers and I agree great steamers for cloths, wife enjoys it :thumb: Thanks for the offer but I'm going to have to pass on it  Thank you, glad you enjoyed it eace: Well on most interiors I've done I don't use any kind of chemical to remove odor, I just use the steamer and that's about it...to be honest I haven't paid much attention to the odor :shead: I'll have to remember to check for oder next time, sorry not much help on the odor side :sorry:
