I talked to DJ_JonnyV a bit about this. I think we'd all agree that we don't want to do anything as extensive as we did at the last meet. I'd definitely like to do a lot less work and a lot more beer drinking. Sample trades, technique discussion, inspection of the different rotaries we have, tools, etc. Jon mentioned his garage was a possible place; having been there I think it's perfect even without the surround sound installed...in a garage...:crasy: If we were to meet up at my place, we'd be stuck outside on the driveway in the backyard with the mosquitos. Anywho, let's start chatting and see what dates/times would be good for everyone. Shauna, I know your car is still in the process of getting those upgrades. Ben, I don't know if you've had the chance to rub on your Lancer's paint. Hopefully, you can make it too SSTG. Big Gary (Black Diamond), if you're still out there, give us a holler. And anyone else in the greater metro StL area that may be reading this. :drinking2:
I don't know if ya want an Iowan ? But if so, let me know when I would like a little detail chit chat and some beer drinkin' I've been planning to get down there to see some family before the weather leaves and business launches. Just let me know !
We can do it at my house, that shouldn't be a problem. I think that April or later would work best as March is still a little iffy around here. Hell, I might even have the surround sound going by then! I have my home theater guy on the hook to help with the install, and I'm on the hook to buff his full-size Chevy (black) pickup. He told me that some lady sideswiped him at a Walgreen's, but I don't believe him. He would fit right in at NASCAR. I'll also have to make sure Mrs. DJ_JonnyV is scheduled off from Costco which shouldn't be a problem with enought lead time. Anyone from out of town is more than welcome. I'd offer to put you up here, but pretty much all the rooms are occupied by kids. There are a few hotels in the area that won't break the bank and are clean (i.e. not pay by the hour!!!). Maybe weekend of 4/11 or 5/9??? I have to double-check when Easter is too. Might have some vaca plans for end of April/1st week of May. Oh, btw, we'll have more cold beer than you can imagine and I could even roll the BBQ pit around and do some burgers, chicken, brats. Just have to watch MadOzodi with the beer so he's not hologramming your paint!!!oke::drinking2::buffing:
Sounds like a Great Time ! Let us know when ! I'll probably grab a room downtown somewhere depending on where you are located. And I will have to make sure I am not buried with cars when you get a date arranged. Keep in Touch ! :headbang:
The more the merrier! At no point did I pick up the rotary while consuming beer, LOL! All you need for that garage is a small fridge that'll hold a few cases of bottles; it could go right next to the MF container. Maybe Ben could score a few racks of ribs from his G-pa?
I'm in, let me know the date so I can plan around it. I had to miss last year's get together,I definatley want to make this years.
I don't think Ben is old enough to partake in any beer drinking yet. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks my car will be done and wrestling season will be over.
Bumpitty. What are people's schedules looking like after Easter? Should we shoot for a weekend in May?
Always calling me out. I will bring my WATER and be happy... Lancer is gone. My silverado could use some TLC though. Does anyone else have a good sized compressor so we can do some machine sanding ? Brians car would be a good car to work with.
Alrighty folks, Easter has come and gone...I don't even know where I put all that chocolate! What are we feeling, thinking? Ben, my 11gal air compressor is only rated at 4cfm @ 90psi. Hardly enough for pneumatic machine sanding. HOWEVER!.....it's certainly enough to spray my Tornador Foam gun which I promise to bring along with the air compressor. I hit Brian's Boxster with one pass of SIP at some point last year, but I'm not polishin unless it's test panels...he needs to learn how to use that UDM. All it needs is a hit with 106FA or 85RD. I've got a few new things to show peeps as well since I'm outta control!
I'd love to learn how to wetsand at our next meeting. I have a feeling the GTO is going to need a couple of spots done.
Ok, my garage system is FINALLY being installed tomorrow night. I've finally got every rounded up (full 5.1 system, 40" LCD, etc.), outlet run where I need it, and all that jazz. Here's the deal, on most weekends my wife works. My 2 kids usually like to help out here and there. I usually put them on wheel duty since they really can't srew anything up. So, if you don't mind a 2 and 4 year old hanging around, just name your date. I'll even BBQ some burgers/brats/whatever for lunch, but my hands-on in anything we do will probably be limited due to kids. I have plenty of product, polish, wax, u name it. So, let's get serious about dates. The last weekend in May is the only bad one for me.
