Car accident update

Well my 2000 LS V8 Sport is now totaled. I'm in the search for a new car, probably a GTO. NADA says max I'll get 10k which I'd be happy with, I'll have to haggle with insurance.

 

Good Luck! NADA is worthless. If you walk away with at least $6k, then you've done alright.

 

Yea, but I'm still gonna argue from that standpoint. I had 70k miles on a 2000 and it was in mint condition with no accidents and flawless maintenence records.

All of that should help, especially if there was any work done to the vehicle within the last 6 months and you have the paperwork for it.

 

If I got over 9 I'd be very happy.

 

I found a yellow GTO for $16k in my area with 40k miles

but its the 5.7, i dunno if that matters to you tho.

I know you're not really looking for help looking for one, but i thought i'd give you an idea of how much they go for in my area.... the max i've seen on the 5.7's is $20,500(lowest was $15,500 with 80k) where the newer 6.0 still ask for $22-24k

It doesn't hurt to look for comparables in your area to justify your value.

 

Fight the insurance guys as hard as possible! My friend is a real hard-ass and he argued with them up and down until he got what he wanted.
