Home Depot has their "Homer" buckets at the new reduced price of $2.98. Unfortunately the white translucent buckets with the graduated marks are still $6.50.

However the real deal is Tractor Supply (TSC). White translucent (no marks) buckets 2 for $5.

FYI, grit guards do not fit well with the HD homer buckets

I guess I had better check the TSC buckets I bought. :yikes:

  4. You could always make your own grit guard out of egg crate. That way they'll fit anything you want.

They do fit, they're just loose. They still sit at the bottom of the bucket like they're supposed to.

that sucks. I had one from Pepboy's, and grit guard fit well in it.

Thats weird, the ones that I have, the grit guard is about 1/4" away from touching the bottom the bucket. Mine sits really tight if I squash it in there.

Some are too tight, some are too loose?
Excellent quality control at the bucket factory, I must say.

Grit guards fffttt! I drill holes in one bucket and nestle in a second one. Egg crates are a good idea for my second bucket....
