I recently compounded and polished my vehicle. While doing so; I completed a test section where I compounded, polished, and then waxed with Collinite 476S to ensure I was happy with the results before repeating the process over the entire vehicle. Once I finished compounding and polishing the vehicle, I foamed it with Hi -Temp's Prep Wash, rinsed it with a pressure washer, and then washed the vehicle using the TBM and Hi-Temp Prep Wash. The Collinite 476S applied to the test section was still beading after this process. I know the stuff says it is a detergent proof wax, but wow;, this stuff is durable. After all, Prep Wash is formulated to effectively remove silicones, buffing oils, waxes, sealants, etc. from the finish (I use it frequently for this purpose). I know I've removed a semi-fresh coat (applied the week prior) of Z***l Titanium from my vehicle's finish by foaming with Meg's Hyper Wash using a semi aggressive dilution ratio. This indicates the durability of Collinite 476S in comparison to other LSPs. Application of this product is easy when applied with a damp applicator and removal is a breeze when applied in a thin, even coat. Removal of thick, uneven coats can be extremely difficult. Looks are comparable to those provided by a high quality carnauba wax IMO.
Great Review! I like 476's for customer cars because you know 4 months down the road the wax will still have decent beading.
I agree. 476s is often overlooked, but is an excellent wax. If polished properly, 476 will make any colour look awesome and it lasts. One of the few carnaubas I will use on a customers car.
