Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not you can purchase new lenses for your headlights rather than having to replace the entire headlight assembly. The vehicle I'm wanting to replace the lenses on is an 05 BMW 525. Thanks, Brandon
Thats a loaded question when you're talking about a beamer. I doubt it...Google it and see what you can find out...
you mean the projector lens? you would have to pull the whole assembly apart to get to the lens IIRC. and even doing that, i hesitate since a pair of headlights are around $1k+ BMW lens are popular for projector style HID setups
i think he's talking about the headlight lense, the plastic part that keeps on turning yellow on some cars and you have to wetsand and polish. only way i can see you getting a lense is to go to a junkyard and finding the same headlights or purchase one on ebay.
you can buy just the lens. only thing is to remove it from the assembly you have to bake it in an oven. or at least thats the way i have done sealed units before. dont remember the temp but just enough to loosen the glue. then reapply glue or epoxy what ever it is that they use.
LOL! Thanks guys; I'm gonna try and contact Hella on Monday. Are body shops usually willing to replace the lenses or am I gonna have to attempt to do so myself?
